Multi-tasking today! by
AliceW
Well, I didn't get dressed today either, but I sleep in sweat pants and tee
shirts, so folks don't normally notice. But I was on a roll today! Not
only did I burn 50 CDs for my son's wedding on 11-08, design and print out a
sample of the CD cover and label, but I also designed, cut and...

Tieing a quilt by
Laura Gilbert
Hi all,
I have a quilt that I made about 20+ years ago, before I had any formal
training for quilting. I sewed a bunch of 12 inch blocks of corduroy
together and made a top, and used a king sized sheet for the backing, and
put 2 layers of batting in between. I used the overlap of the sheet for...

A Day of S.E.X! by
Debbi
had a great day. My next door neighbor and I went to M & L fabrics in Garden
Grove. For those of you not blessed living in SO CA, this is an amazing
experience. Talk about FABRIC! Many guilds and other take field trips to M &
L. They have flat folds that you can go through that are piled higher...

where's the THRILL in crafts? by
DMOscarson
IMHO you're in the wrong group. Quilting is an art on a much higher level than
mere "crafts" which I consider to be the hot glue gun, felt, styrofoam, etc.
junk that just collects dust until it's thrown out. A quilt is made by someone
with a great deal of skill and the end result usually becomes...

More MeSue news by
Karen Williams Johnson
Everybody,
Sue/MeSue would probably be pretty ticked off that news of her passing
leaked out before she was ready ... I say that with deepest affection
for her and a lot of laughter, because she'd be the first to make fun
of her own need to control everything, down to the details of her
memorial...

A great laugh shared by my grandmother by
Janice Davis
A woman went to the doctor's office where she was seen by one of the new doctors. After about 4 minutes in the examination room, she burst out, screaming as she ran down the hall.
An older doctor stopped her and asked what the problem was, and she told him her story. After listening, he had her...

Change the Subject line, PLEASE!!! by
Ellison
Howdy!
Please. Please? PLEASE!!!
Several posts About Us/Marilyn,
and none of this is, really.
Happy for y'all to be planning a get-together,
but perhaps you'd catch more quilters if you labelled it
something like, "East Coast Meeting" or "RCTQ Yankees Meeting"
or "Northeast Hens...

Taking a break by
frood
I've finished the main quilting and the background quilting on Halloween II:
The Sequel. I'm taking a break from it while I figure out what to do on the
border. And while I figure out what to make for dinner!
The quilt is a modified split-rail, with large rectangle blocks of Halloween
fabrics with...

Basting Spray by
Tia Mary-remove nekoluvr to reply
Hi Guys,
I bought myself a can of this stuff for use in making some placemats and
it's great!!! I don't know that I would use it to baste a large quilt but for
something like placemats, it's wonderful. I was going to make a regular
"sandwich" of backing, batting (using up the leftover poly junk...

OT - All-American or All American by
Hanne Gottliebsen
OK, help out a Dane who is somewhat out of her element wrt language.
Is it All-American or All American? And what exactly does that mean to
you?
I'm making this flag (US) banner quilt (or quilted flag banner?) for
some friends of mine, and I was thinking of calling it "All-American
Colours"...

Quilty progress by
juliasb(nospam)
Well with all the inspiration of so many here and listening to
discussion on table runners I decided to do some more. Years ago I made
a good number of them for holiday gifts. Of the dozen or so sets I kept
one for myself.
Then I was inspired here.... my own 2 daughters did not have a set
so...
