Can you recommend an over for polymer? by
Oppie
I'm interested in working with polymer and I was told that I shouldn't
use my regular kitchen oven. I'm not sure what the dangers or fuss and
muss might be, but she told me that I should get a separate oven in
which to bake the polymer.
I assume that the person who told me this (if indeed it is a...

transfers - still complicated? by
kellyK
How is the search for inexpensive ways of transferring images onto clay
(raw
or otherwise) with INK JET printers *without* hassle or expensive transfer
papers coming? I'd like to try to develop a way, but I don't have the
patience to reinvent the wheel.

Hello all,
This is my first post to this group and I am looking for a little help.
I am new to polymer clay but have done 3 dimensional arts in wood
carving, clay sculpting and computer graphics for a while. Anyway, I
own a company that does home restorations and themes in which we build
a lot of...

Another newbie with questions.... by
Emmett
Hi folks! I've been a member of a couple of other newsgroups for a
while, and just discovered this one.
I've been doing sculpting and glass wrapping for about 4 years now,
after abandoning my artistic side (at least the sculptor part of it)
for about 20 years. I'm loving this new world...

delurking-wiki proposal--longish by
Teresa
Hi
My name is Teresa, and I've been reading this newsgroup on and off for
years. Even though I have no talent for it, I love polymer clay. Based in
part from information I have gained from this newsgroup, I have developed
enough skill at the craft that my family doesn't return polymer...

Great Beady things in Belle Armoire this month by
Barbara Forbes-Lyons
My friend Jana Roberts Benzon has a polymer clay project and gallery in
this month's issue. Sarajane has a GREAT article about accepting 'no' in
your arts biz and there are a couple other beady projects that are quite
fun.
Oh, and they are looking for submissions for the second Belle...

glass attic question by
kellyK
I know I'd been away from polymer clay for awhile, but it seems my memory is
failing... did Laurel Nevans originate Glass Attic? I thought someone else
did, but Laurel's home page seems to suggest that she began it -- or maybe
I'm just reading it incorrectly. Or I *could* chalk it up to still...

Hello and question for swimmers/hot-tubbers by
Shay
This is my first post here, so first of all "Hello" to you all.
I have a question for anyone out there who wears their polymer jewelry
while swimming or hot tubing. I make polymer beads and have started
making some "surfer" jewelry for my friends, who are also willing
guinea pigs for my...

using obsessive skills by
Sjpolyclay
One of the things I really like about polymer clay is that it fits my "isms",
my "little ways", which include sometimes getting, well, obsessive. This can
be a handy trait rather than a failing, in the right circumstances. Like when
ya have a 15 pound box of cane slices, and a lot of them are old...

Hiya folks,
I just came across this website:

If you scroll down, you can read on how they make the stamps using liquid
polymer clay.
They're offering a kit you need to buy: but I'm sure you can do this

Want to make buttons by
Kathy
Hi, I am interested in making my own buttons for my handmade clothes.
Which type of poly clay would be best? I have a large block of cernit,
but it's white, & turns a flesh color when baked. I plan on using the
cernit to make molds. Should I restrict it to just the molds, or could
I mix it with...

Fresnel diy by
.::SuperBLUE::.
Is it possible to make fresnel lenses at home?
I am thinking of some kind of some kind of hard, transparent photopolymers
and then?
How are fresnel lenses made at all?
How are glass lenses made at all?
What is the simplest or best way to make something like that?

Pasta machine question by

When I use my pasta machine to make a striped cane, first making sheets
of color then stacking them, when I run a stack of four through the
pasta machine the sheets seperate at the top and crawl off in opposite
directions like a Y. Any idea what I am doing wrong? Seems to happen no
matter how...
