2 1/4" grosgrain equivalent by vpenoso
I make these climbing shoe covers. I am using a 2 1/4" grosgrain but I am looking for something a little more abrasion resistant and a little heavier? I do not want to cut to width or cut to length and would rather buy by the roll. Anyone have any ideas? colors: black, and forest green

Leotard Neckline/Armholes Contrast Trim by [email protected]
I've been sewing basic bodysuits and unitards for my kids' gymnastics and would now like to make some with contrast lycra binding. Has anyone ever done this on a leotard or swimsuit? I've tried it numerous times but can't seem to get it right. I follow the pattern instructions, stitching first...

Fleece Materials With Some Spandex by W
I'm looking for solid color fleece fabric - sold by the yard - that is about 85% to 95% nylon fleece, and the remainder spandex (to make the fabric stretch well during use). Can anyone recommend a site that has good quality fleece fabric with these characteristics? -- W

e-Bay (OT) by W.Boyce
IMS writes: "Sorry about your health issues" Issues?? How very sanitary. Anderson just wrote about having to GIVE UP SEWING for health reasons, yet IMS can hardly wait to flog her? in the superfluous 2nd paragraph with a "you shoulda", a shaming statement, and explaining the great error of her ways...

Zig Zag stitch by Wainscotting
My wife has a Toyota 8800 sewing machine. She has tried to use the Zig Zag stitch function but although it does the Zig Zag stitch it doesn't pull the material through. There are 19 different stitch patterns available and the other 18 all pull the material through. Anyone any ideas?

Hello: I bought a used Nelco sewing machine for my 15-year old daughter. She wants to take classes at JoAnn and I thought this might be a good machine to start on. I got it at an auction. While I don't know much about sewing machines in particular, I do know a bit about mechanical things in...

Need to know if velour can be shrunk by [email protected]
Hi. I own a velour jogging suit that is a little too big for me. It still looks okay when I wear it, but it is a bit on the baggy side. I was wondering if any of you know if velour can be shrunk in the wash/dryer? Thanks for any info.

Help with Sewing DejaNews by Ward
Hello, A long, long, time ago I read a post here that gave the measurements for various size dolls. Not the height, but the chest, mid-section, arm and legs. It was specific for sewing doll clothes. Seems not all dolls are created equally in circumference. I printed out the post, then lost it....

Hello All! I am making a very basic straight skirt with a matching cardigan style jacket. The fabric is a wool, actually it's some men's suiting fabric I bought a couple years ago to make a suit for my husband. The project never materialized, no pun intended, so now the fabric is mine. I will...
