OT----- Who has time to stitch? by
scottnh
As I read over all these posts on nit picking, verbage, etc. I wonder how
all you ladies have time to do any needlework, crocheting, or knitting.
I think enough is enough. It is all so redundant!!! Get a private chat
room.

Floss storage boxes by
Addie Otto
Santa was good to me and brought me a cozy chair to stitch in and now I am
want to reorganize my stash so it is near while I work. I especially want
my floss to be at hand.
Currently, I have my floss wound on plastic bobbins in a Darice box. This
works but I would like something that is more...

how do I size thread? by
Jean Peach
I often wondered how to find out how to compare threads for size.
There is a book called Threads for Lace, which also includes embroidery
threads.
Not only do I make lace, but I have been doing my City & Guilds Machine
Embroidery. This book has been invaluable to me, especially if I need...

How did I find you again! by
Marny CA
Holy smokes! All I was doing was looking for a movie and where and then my fingers switched to something else and then something else - and Voila! I spotted RCTN!
Oh my heavens! How much this group did for me after my beloved husband Dale died. The HUGS Quilt is such a part of my life and...

My Finished Sampler by
Lucille[_3_]
I added a picture in my RCTNP album of the little sampler I made for my
sister and brother-in-law's 50th Anniversary. It was supposed to be an
apple tree, but since they live in Arizona, I figured oranges were more
appropriate.

A different way of storing floss for projects. by
F.James Cripwell
I have tried various methods of keeping floss for a particular
project, and have yet to find a way I find completely satisfactory.
I have had cardboard strips with holes in them. I don't like all the
ends of the different colours getting twisted together, and find the
holes are too close to each...

Why would needleworkers attend quilt shows by
Debra
Last Sunday I went to my first quilt show. I went to look at quilts
but if I had known there would be so much embroidery to see at a quilt
show I would have gone to one a long time ago.
I was surprised at how many quilts there were and the various levels
of expertise shown by them. There were...

REALLY OT..Info on Sunbeam MixMster by
Gillian Murray
OK, guys, we are in the midst of the big annual yardsale. I have
unearthed the EMIL's Sunbeam MixMaster. #100-86659. It has the two
bowls, and various mixing tools. Is this something I stick $2 on, or is
it really more of a collector pieces. Haven't a clue, have never used
it, but she made...

OT OT can I VENT?? Please by
Cheryl Isaak
Other than wishing I'd get a few more calls for subbing, life was cooking
along OK. Just need to wrap up some GS stuff and do house work and read and
stitch and garden. DS's progress reports were ok, DD was pronounced an
"advanced" reader.
Then, yesterday, I go down to change laundry loads when I...

OK - time for a round of WHAT ARE YOU STITCHING by
Cheryl Isaak
I still have my two purse projects:
1. need a second pair of eyes to look at my backstitching color - which is a
good excuse to drive down and see Margaret!
2. The yellow Australian wild flower on yellow. I did a tiny bit of the back
stitching and wow is it going to POP when it's done.

Tapestry frame or embroidery hoop by
Jill Spottiswoode
Hi, can anyone advise me as to what to use to hold my cross stitch taut
enough for me to work on. I am thinking about getting a Tapestry frame or
Embroidery hoop, but don't know how to use them. (Have only seen pictures of
them)
Thanks,
Jill

OFF TOPIC - mystery solved by
Cheryl Isaak
Recently, I've been discovering wet, as in dripping, mugs in the cabinet.
Now, I carefully dry all the glasses and cups before I put them away.
HOW THE HELL ARE THEY GETTING WET????
Yesterday, I watched DS open the cabinet, grab a mug, run the tap, drink
some water and put the mug back in the...

Pronunciation of Aida by
Virginia Hughes
This is probably an old question hereabouts, but I am tired of never
knowing the answer so I am asking it of experts. I have an unabridged
dictionary, but it gives no defintion for Aida cloth, just 1)"an opera"
and 2)"female name". Both are pronounced Ah-ee-da. Does that apply to
the cloth, too, or...

DMC has gone into bankruptcy by

Just announced today -- DMC (including all of their floss lines) has
gone into bankruptcy. I imagine a run on most of the needlework
stores just to stock up. Anyone heard anything yet?

What are you stitching by

Me - I found this tiny Ink Circles chart - it was the address label from
when I won one of her door prizes. I'm stitching with a Carrie's
Creation called Caribbean Laney.
I just finished over the weekend my previous purse project of an Aussie
wildflower called a howhai. Have to think about how...
