Texture tools & ideas by
steve [email protected]
i FINALLY designed & am producing my own texture tools! after many
years of using found items like pastry cutters, cement & saw blades,
toy truck tires, etc, i designed my own! while these were fun to use,
they would clog up quickly & leave less texture marks. so i made mine
with deep...

flickr photos by
steve [email protected]
anyone started messing with the yahoo-flickr picture thing? if you
upload pictures, you can pass people links, or on yahoo webpages show
them easily.
i was looking around & if you add a key word *tag* to your photos, they
can be found by other people in general. i found this batch of some
4450...

self watering plants by
steve [email protected]
i was passed an idea on how to make self watering devices for larger
planters.
we all have seen self watering devices, little figures made in bisque,
stabbed into a potted plant. hold maybe 2 ounces of water...
this idea is to make a LARGER bisque bottle, and burry the bottle in
the LARGE pot. ...

yahoo's 360 feature by
steve [email protected]
a while back someone mentioned the FLICR feature of yahoo for posting
pictures. i went to yahoo & saw their "360" feature which is a pretty
easy website scheme that enables posting of many photo sets.
it'd be neat if everyone here was to post their work. obviously we can
finally see each others...

Pottery Display? by
steve [email protected]
check out that gallery to see their style of displays, but also see
others.
depending on your style of work, simply throwing a colored cloth over
an area with various elevated boxes might work. or straw or sand or
dried leaves...
or, the classic pillar.

i was passed a fun project idea from my wife - something she saw in a

the idea is to make face parts to put on a tree.
make the eyes, nose, and mouth. all separates. they come together
when they hang on the tree. the tree makes up the head.
make sure there are holes in the...

pottery selling & marketing ideas by
steve [email protected]
i was talking off line with another potter, and thought some comments
should be posted here as well.
getting too old to crank out regular ware? what other ways are there
to shift gears & yet elevate ourselves to better pottery?
one concept of mine was/is to make semi-custom fountains. ...

Inlaying Slip by

Hi, I was reminded of a couple of tips I wanted to share whilst working on
some tankards this week. Firstly on how useful second hand dental tools can
be particularly V shaped ones in cutting groves in greenware with relatively
smooth edges. They seem to be easily available at cheap market tool...

PMC by

Has anybody here played with PMC (precious metal clay ) yet? I just got a kit for Christmas and have been reading through all the literature. I opted not to get an expensive mini kiln just yet, but got what they call a "hot pot." Cute little pot, like 2 bisque flower pots (sort of) lined with...
