spinning by Bibe
I've recently taken up knitting again after a few year break, and was perhpas thinking of spinning my own yarn, but I have never done this before, and frankly, I don't really know much about spinning. Would anyone know of a great website or book that could teach me more about this? While I have...

Leopard Print crochet blanket pattern? by Bryan
A friend of mine wants me to make a leopard print baby blanket to match the Noah's Ark theme nursery. Any suggestions on where to find a yellow & brown or black mix yarn soft enough for baby? I was going to just do a shell stitch, but any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Bryan

yahoo invite versus usenet by YarnWright
I'm leaning towards declining the invite, as I don't like the way yahoogroups 'works' compared to usenet. IMHO, a 'forum' would be more LIKE usenet. Noreen -- http://yarnwright.com/books --- avast! AV: Outbound message clean. Virus Database (VPS): 0620-2, 05/18/2006

Help - need a crochet hockey rink pattern by QT-Pi
Hi everyone - I was hoping someone could help me find a pattern for a crocheted hockey rink pattern. I found one on a site called Designs by JAMI or something like that, but the pattern doesn't give very good instructions :( Alternatively I would be interested in where to find a book/website/etc...

Aaaaaaaagghhh!! Slippery yarn rant... by CMM PDX2
Well, I knew it would be understood here... Since about 6:30 p.m, I've been d'loading pix from my favorite clip-art newsgroup, to keep myself occupied during the boring part of a project. Said project is skeining some yarn for over-dyeing. (not that it isn't a perfectly lovely fuschia color...

losing my mind - Great American Aran Afghan by redalet
I usually just lurk, but this is driving me up a wall. I was hoping that there is an error in the pattern on pg 22, Carol Adams, however I can't find the errata page for this book. Now I'm just hoping that someone can point out what I'm missing. The cables aren't coming out right. Both sides...

?? Is something knit on a manual knitting machine "hand knit"? by
I am seeing items made on knitting frames, i.e., manual knitting machines, labeled as "hand knit". Is this legal, or fair and proper? And, are there stitches, designs, or patterns that can not be "machine knit" and thus demonstrate to knowledgably people that the object was knit with needle in...

knitting socks by Jennym
Hello all I'm trying to teach myself how to knit socks and I'm getting on all right (once I figured out that when knitting in the round stocking stitch you just keep on knitting and it's fine). I just wondered about wool types. Currently I'm using DK. Would knitting in 4-ply be worth all the extra...

Addiction to Knitting and Yarn ~ who, US??? by Noreen's Knit*che
First, I have to give credit as to where I found the below: http://www.eberly.iup.edu/Mtroxell/addiction.htm YOU KNOW YOU ARE ADDICTED TO KNITTING AND YARN IF . . . . . You have a room in your house devoted just to knitting. You buy yarn just because it's pretty, even if you don't know what...

newbie coming onboard by Karen, Queen of Squishies
Hi, I'm new here, and as you can see, I go by the screen name of Karen, Queen of Squishies. First let me explain that odd title, and then I have a question I really need your help with. Queen of Squishies - a squishy is an envelope containing fabric or yarn and it squishes when you squeeze it....
