Johanna Gibson
I went over to the new flat today to discuss some details with my
new landlord, and he surprised me by saying I had post already! Well,
what to my wondering eyes did appear, but a squishie, all for me!
Thanks Boca Jan, for welcoming me to my new home. What a bright and
sunny envelop and a nice...

On to the next project by
TerriLee in WA \(state\)
Ok, since I finished the baby quilt, I'm in a "finishing" mode. I have the
top and the back done for a monster (queen size, 86.5 wide, 99.75 long).
This is the John Deere fabric one that I started last year. I want to
"birth" it, as my dear godmother thinks she'll like that best (no binding
for...

An update and a whoohoo! by
Debbie
I posted about my MIL expecting me to make a quilt for her two bosses for
Christmas while at the same time commenting that the quilt I had made for
her was going into a yard sale.
I got some great advice from you all about how to handle that situation and
the end result was..........I just...

from Bonnie, in Middletown, VA by
offkilterquilter
Guys, Bonnie sent this to me and wanted me to let y'all know..she is
still with us. I answered her questions about the directory, but
couldn't help her with the baseball swap. Figured there had to be
somebody else in the RCTQ group who was in it, so here's her message:
Hi ,
This is Bonnie,...

Sun Bonnet Sue: Cheater blocks of the kind you're supposed to cut out,
stitch up and stuff into SBS pillows. I've got blue and red. Some are
stitched onto back blocks. They remind me of things my MeeMaw made
back when I was a little girl -- think late 1950s, early 1960s. First

BOM Site by
Linda Franklin[_2_]
I am new to quilting and to the group, but vaguely remember looking at
someone's site which had a pieced BOM, a paper pieced BOM, and an
appliqued BOM - with pics of folks completed blocks, etc. At the time I
did not bookmark it.
Now I am learning paper piecing and am particularly interested...

2000-year-old needlework by
Jack Campin - bogus address
I meant to post about this some time ago, but for anyone within
reach of Istanbul before early April there is an amazing artifact
at this exhibition:
http://muze.sabanciuniv.edu/cengiz_han/english/
It's a wall hanging from a yurt (Central Asian nomadic tent) dated
to around 2000 years ago. It's...

mostlyOT - I deserve a pat on the back by

bought a secure wireless router to replace my unsecured router. Once
I changed routers, I lost the internet connection on my wireless

Charm Packs by
Sunny
Quick question: What do you think of Charm Packs (those pre-cut
packages of 5" squares with one coming from each piece of a specific
collection)? I know they're pretty much a rip-off so far as price per
yard, but I'm just like a kid in a candy store with them. Anybody
else?

amazing what six quilters can finish in a day by
Susan Laity Price
One of the members of my quilting bee died almost a year ago. Her
daughter gave us all of her mother's fabrics. Among the fabric were
several unfinished projects. Our plan was to finish these projects and
give them back to the family but we just never got around to it.
Yesterday we had an all day...

I put the border on this evening, I had a bit of a moment where I put the
final strip on right side to wrong side and didn't realise until I'd set the
seam, fortunately the stitch length was long enough and the iron relatively
cool, so it...

straight stitch throat plate by
Anne Rogers
I've been googling for tips and one thing that has come up is using a
straight stitch throat plate, which apparently solves lots of problems that
appear to be tension related. I'm just using a regular zig zag throat plate,
any thoughts? is this a worthwhile investment?

My Sewing Room by
Sunny
Delays, router problems, broken appointments (I was the one breaking),
big projects at school.... finally it happened yesterday and the
computer fiber connection was moved into the "big room" downstairs and
the former "office" is now my sewing room.
Oh my gosh what a mess. My husband looked at the...
