ot; Divorce support qeustion by
Peter Lucas
I was ''divorced'' one year ago. It was pretty straight forward. My
partner
and I owned a small desktop publishing business and a trailer. No kids
(obviously!).
We decided to try and be as fair as possible. He got the trailer and
all the rights to it.
He also assumed responsibility to an equity...

Inland by
Michele Blank
Did anyone else find a recent communication from Inland products a bit
confusing? First i get a letter saying they will now be selling direct to
retailers but you had to fill out a ton of paper work so i didn't bother.
Then a couple weeks later, i get a new notice that all orders and new
accounts...

What's everyone up to? by
Kalera Stratton
I was wondering what kinds of projects people are currently working on?
I make beads and some fused work, bowls, jewelry pieces and etc. but the
most interesting (ie "challenging") thing I've done lately is making
small magnifying paperweights that consist of a clear core, a design in
a sort of...

what temp to soften glass so gravity makes it flow by
TT
I have a large ceramic kiln and I want to experiment with glass.
Here's what I'm trying to do. I want to lay some glass vodka bottles on
their sides and get them hot enough so that gravity acting on them will make
them flat/collapse. I don't want the glass to melt into a liquid puddle, but
just...

Sandblasting glass by
Hey Rescue Lady...Can you help me get rid of my do
Greetings..
I have read through the old post via google search, but have ended up
more confused than ever.
I am looking to do some light sandblasting (decorative). Nothing more
really than "frosting" the glass in patterns. I purchased the $20
"spray sand in a can", and although it is a realy...

Lighting Recommendations by
Francis Vesey
I just bought a house with a basement, that has very little lighting and I
am looking for recommendations. What is best, when working with Stained
Glass. Flourescent, Incandescent or Halogen? Maybe, a combination?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Stained Glass Books by
Michael[_2_]
I got another order of glass today. It was sitting in a big box on
the front porch when I got home. Wahoo! What a pleasure to unwrap
and look at all those beautiful sheets of glass. I also got a couple
books with colored photos of old glass in them, Old Stained Glass for
the Home and Antique...

Cold spots in kiln - usual or unusual ? by
Adrian Brentnall
Hi All
I've been using a little Paragon SC2 front-loading kiln for the last 6
weeks or so - mostly making small fused pendant pieces, dichro,
earrings - that sort of thing.
I'd noticed that not all of the pieces in each firing were fusing
fully - and recently seem to have discovered that the 'bad'...

When worlds collide by
Kalera
I've recently noticed that some regulars here are now posting on one of
my favorite web forums.
For some reason, I find it mildly discombobulating, as if they belong to
two completely unrelated worlds.

here comes the tools now by
Glassman
OK I've been bitching about the lamps from Korea, China, and Mexico for
the last 10 years. Then I was seeing finished panels with hundreds of pieces
for under $99 showing up at the mall. Well now you won't believe what I just
saw. Comfort grip style stick cutters, with the colored plastic...

Determining age of lead - DSCN1416a.jpg (0/1) by
dohboy
I am currently working on releading a 18th French panel. The lead appears to have machine marks in the channel.(Image attached) My guess is that the panel had been releaded more recently.
Does anyone know where I might find information on determining the age of a panel from the came marks?
TIA

Glass cutting lubricant by
Charles A. Peavey
Greetings:
What is the consensus on glass cutting fluid. Turpentine, kerosene, or some
of the specialty odorless fluids available on the market? Thanks.
Best regards,

Blackening Lead Came by
Cactus Bob
I have never quite figured out how to get that rich black color on lead
came. As the final step I have tried using a bristle brush, car buffing
wheel, etc. I never got that jet black look. Maybe I used the wrong kind
of brush or wimped out too soon; I don't know. Any suggestions,...
