Proud to be a RCTY/Yarners Member by
Joan in Connecticut
I have been very impressed over the last few days at how lovingly our
groups have dealt with the death of Gwen Kelly.
There are about 60+ members of the groups and not many of us have even
met or spoken to each other. Every part of the World is represented,
we speak many different languages, we...

JJMolvik
I haven't been on in awhile. My father has been fighting Prostate cancer
that spread to bone, marrow, and lymph nodes. I have been taxi-ing my
parents to and from Dr. appointments and juggling my DDs' summer.
Dad lost his battle @ 66 years old on Thursday, July 12th, 2007.
We are all...

Knitting Camp 2007 report LONG by
Shillelagh
This was my 3rd year attending, and this year it was held in Fort Collins.
Some of you will know that Fort Collins and Lambspun yarn shop are the
background to Maggie Sefton's knitting mystery novels. She has renamed Fort
Collins to Fort Connor and Lambspun is The House of Lambspun.
The day...

Those EZ hats by
Mary Fisher
The first one, the Maltese Fishermans' Hat, was knitted straight through,
all in one and I was very pleased with it. I attached a tassel today.
The tricorn hat was different. I didn't have a substantial enough yarn to
achieve the gauge so I experimented.
The first was far too small even for the...

Katherine
For those of you who remember Gwen Kelly, Nora wanted you to know that
we have received a letter from her daughter Shauna. She said that she
posted it here, but asked me to check. I don't see it, but that is no
surprise, as Google has been acting up all week. In any case, I am
including Shauna's...

Another great link by
Shillelagh
A friend in Australia sent me the link to this beautiful shawl, and I just
had to share it with you! I think I might have to buy the pattern ;)
I'm just back from knitting camp and will send a full report later - I'm
still recovering from the hours going through security and "hurry up and
wait"...

stash find by
Spike Driver
I stopped by the local Salvation Army looking for some treasure.
I found 22 skeins of wool yarn from lace to worsted. at fifty cents a
skien. Some of the feather weight yarn is over 3 ounces a skein. I have
a good bit of sport weight in a treed. I will use the fingering
weight for socks. ...

in Smith on Wool ...
It applies to England of course, and possibly Wales.
