African textile art by
Boca Jan
My step-son just returned from Africa (Tanzenia) and brought me back some
great gifts, all fabric/art. I like reptiles and have a few in my sun room,
so the art is appropriate.
I hope you will visit my webshots and see. I am so pleased.

African Wall Hanging - new pix by
Bronnie
Here's the link to my webshots album to check out my latest quilt
"Savannah Sunset".
Original design, I worked out the background and drew the 3 figures
and zebras in EQ6. Hard to see in the pix, but there is a map of
Africa in the background quilting, you can zoom in on it.
It was a really fun...

I had a short work day (3 hours) so got to do some quilty stuff. Finished a
star block and started picking fabrics and patterns for the b'day blocks for
the rest of this year. Also printed clue 3 for the mystery quilt. I work

After a hug quilt has been delivered..... by
annie, england
So the sneaking around is finished and the quilt is finally delivered
and there are pictures of people who can't stop this manic grin even
tho it might get them carted off to the funny farm. And there are
postings for a few days
But what then????
Well I received my hug quilt, delivered by the...

After all, I am a quilter by
Polly Esther[_5_]
We had ten wonderful lights to install between 2 of the columns at our front
door. A space after column one, a light, another space and so on. I simply
drew a 'quilt' diagram with _ for spaces and 0 for lights. Measured out to
need 10 and 1/3 inches for the spaces. Mr. Esther said, "We'll...

DQLTS
You ever take a class then wonder why you bothered?
Well as posted early last week I went to a class
for "Log cabin crazies" pattern yesterday. The class
was suppose to be 1-5. It was more like 1:45-4:15.
There were six people in the class four were store employees
do you see where I am going with...

after the show... by
Linda Sweigart
It was so cool to meet a few people from on-line at the Lancaster quilt
show, but what on earth was I thinking of when I wore those boots with 3"
heels? OMG do my feet ever hurt. The only thing that's making it better is
looking at the new additions to my stash. It's a good thing my coffee table
is...

After Washing by
Mika
I have a question for all of those who wash their fabric before adding it to
the stash. After you wash it do you iron it? Starch it? Fold it as it comes
out of the dryer? What is your process of storing your fabric once it comes
out of the dryer?
I'm thinking I might have to wash all my fabric...

After-Purchase brand name or generic foots? by
QuiltShopHopper
I have a Pfaff 2044, which is smarter than I am. I need an open toe
applique foot, which the machine did not come to me with.
Do I have to buy a Pfaff foot from a Pfaff dealer or can I (should I ) see
if I can find a similar foot from somewhere (suggestions please) for less
money, or does that...

Again only one block finished this week by
Susan Laity Price
Early this week I finished "Old Maid's Puzzle". Mom was becoming more
confused. On Tuesday and Wednesday she slept 20 out of 24 hours. I
knew her UTI infection was probably back. Thursday the doctor told me
to take her to the ER. Yes, the infection was back. They admitted her
to the hospital so the...

again..... need help with old quilt restoration... by
DrQuilter
I missed the guilty secrets thread but I must confess to mine: rescue
not too expensive old quilts in need of love ($65 is the most I've paid
for any of these) and bring them back to splendor (as much as possible).
So a few days ago I posted pics of my collection of old, well loved
quilts in need...

Agreed to Give Up or Applique No More by
Joan8904
I've tried applique, I really really have. And I Can do it. It's just that I
don't enjoy it. So the 9 block purple background applique project that I
started last year is going to be 4 blocks and lots of sashing and borders. I
said to myself, "Self, why are you fussing over this? Quilting...

Agrrrhhhh! My 15-91 is Trashed by
M. Wetmore
My 15-91 arrived via UPS last night in three boxes. The seller had
said he would ship the machine and the cabinet in separate boxes.
Well, I guess he got lazy because he left the machine in the cabinet
and put them in a box with nothing in the bottom of the box to support
the weight of the sewing...

Ah-ha moment on Pfaff and machine applique by
Loren in Seattle
I have a Pfaff machine and I adore the integrated dual feed. Usually.
Today, after weeks of getting very frustrated doing some machine appliqué, I
realized that it is much, much easier with the dual feed foot up. Much.
Too bad I figured this out near the end of the project.
I always put the dual...

Ah...July BOMs done! by
Carole-Retired and Loving It
I've finished all three of my July blocks! And, in hopes that my
blocks will all be mathematically correct, I've also cut sashings and
made cornerstones, and pieced borders with corner blocks!
Here is a link to my blocks:

Aha - just a quickie by
Polly Esther
We needed a place to put thread snips and little ravels when stippling. The
place needed to be right in front of our eyes so thread could be disposed of
without thinking or even reaching.
I raised the SM's carrying handle, put a piece of batting about 6"
square over the handle and made it stay...

Aha quilting moments by
Kathy Applebaum
KJ's post about her "aha!" moment with measuring borders got me thinking.
What's a quilting aha moment you've had (that you're willing to confess to)?
We might all learn something. :)
Mine was that the quilt police would not come and arrest me if I drew on my
ironing board cover. I took a fine...
