Plano Texas Quilt Show by
nana2b
I went to Plano Show and it was very nice. A nice collection of beautiful
quilts. Lots of Trapunto treatments with crystals. The one I liked the
most was a scrappy pin wheel quilt that had 17,380 pieces. It took 3 years
to make and was hand quilted in a diagonal pattern. It looked like a...

Question about Fat quarters and fat eights by
Bonnie
Hi All,
Another question: do you prewash fat quarters and fat
eights? How do you do this?
Usually I just toss the fabric into the washer and then the
dryer. It doesn't matter if the ends fray on large pieces
of fabric, but on a fat quarter or fat eight it might make a
big difference.

HUG list definition & invitation (little long) by
Queen of Squishies
Dear RCTQrs,
Late summer seems like a good time to open up the HUG list once again
for new members. The past several months have brought many changes to the
list, and to RCTQ. We have a lot of new posters
(big welcome, all!!!), and a number of HUGgers have had to drop out of being
on the list for...

Judging quilts and bindings . . . . by
Donna in Idaho
I recently helped judge the needlework (including quilts) at our county
fair. My partner is the owner of one of our LQS's.
First off, I was very disappointed since I know that there are some
wonderful quilters in our area - not a one of them entered a quilt in the
fair. No, I didn't look at the...

OT - Time for a gentle push? by
Johanna Gibson
My future landlady, Mary (elder sister of one of my supervisors at
work) tripped over a pebble while walking on the beach near Inverness
on Thursday and ended up breaking her ankle in 3 places. Because of
the location, the ambulance couldn't get anywhere near here, and they
couldn't winch her up...

Fusible batting by
aluap
Hi,
Has anyone had any experience using fusible batting? I have finished a Sunbonnet Sue quilt top (lap/crib size) for my grandniece and am thinking of using the fusible. I'm new to quilting, and I've only made a few other quilts using regular batting and wonder if the fusible works...

Did you miss me the last couple days??? I missed everyone here.
Again a had a glitch in the computer but things are coming along in that
department quite well. So the first thing I am doing is sending all a
quick note to say "I'm back"

Fusible batting - Thanks by
aluap
Wow, thanks everyone for your responses to my fusible batting question! I don't want to take up too much room, so I'll respond to all he
IMS: I have an "extra" Sunbonnet Sue on a 12-inch block, so I think I will try the fusible for a pillow with that one before I attempt the quilt.

I finally got one...not OT by
Jalynne
I decided to take advantage of JoAnn's anniversary sale and got myself a portable Ott

this winter, because I normally get slightly depressed in the winters. Yippeeee!
Next, i'm gonna save up and get one of those...

Four of those are mine. Buttons and Bows was a group quilt that I made with my
Mom. I did the blocks and put it together; she did the silk ribbon embroidery.
Sorry that the pictures aren't better. Didn't have enough time.

Ok, I'm back, posting my update as promised. Keep two things in mind when

is a choice. That said, on with the update.
