If I put my mind to it.... by
nbhilyard
Earlier this year I bought a wonderful group of fabrics: a print with pink,
green, yellow, purple, turquoise leaves on a mottled blue background; plus a
yard each of tone-on-tone in those colors. I thought I'd make a summer
dress and top, though I didn't have a pattern in mind. On Monday...

Art Quilt Permanently Mounted on Stretchers
Greetings:
I am finishing up an 'Art' Quilt and want to permanently mount it
to a frame / stretcher to use as a wall hanging. I think my technique
will be to sew a 4" border of canvas around the outer edges of the
quilt in place of binding and then...

For Polly's Gators by
Butterfly
Dear Gator's. I am sending you a new VAMPIRE to eat and I want you to mince
them finely before scarfing. Seems like they MESSED up the blood I gave on
Mon. So Thurs, I tentatively have to go back for another poke.
My Fam Dr has heard about this tomorrow. Whole reason I was seeing him
tomorrow was...

Bassinett Bumper Pad - Help!!!! by
Mika
I have an old old old wicker bassinet that I am fixing up for the
grandbabies. I "attempted" to make a bumper pad/liner for it out of some
really cute flannel fabric with rainbows and clouds on it. I measured the
inside, top and bottom, since the bottom is smaller than the top. I had just
enough to...

invisible machine applique by
Sharon Gates
I took a class in invisible machine applique this afternoon - I think it may
be addictive :-) I really enjoyed it..The teacher was very good and she
chose a very simple tulip applique. I am really excited to try something
else.

OT Sweet QI in failing health by
AliceW
Well, just got back from the vets with my sweet Miss Paisley. She has been
getting more frail with each passing month. She started having seizure-like
episodes last fall which scares the bejesus out of us. She could be just
standing and all of a sudden she just topples over onto her side,...

Quilted Fabric Bowls by
Rhonda Alterson
I just made my first quilted fabric bowl. My gosh - they're fun and quick. When I can, I'll post a picture. They are great for taking a break from any involved projects. And they are so rewarding. It's almost instant gratification.

wedding quilt question by
Queen of Squishies
Has anyone done the Judy's Fancy pattern before? Is it safe to cut all the
pieces before I start sewing? It's my tendency to do so, but then, I've
never made a quilt from a pattern before. I just sort of wing it. But this
one is different. Thanks!

blocking a quilt by

I have so far managed to stay away from blocking quilts, but it is a
finishing skill I'd like to incorporate - no point in making a nice quilt
and making it look worse than it otherwise could at the last minute...

Cool Garage sale find by
Roberta
My mother, daughters and I have made it sort of a tradition to "do" garage
sales in the wee hours of the morning. I shop mostly for clothing - for the
girls. Today I happened upon a really cool thing :)
I found a quilt hanger - not sure what else to call it.
It is very long and has little knobs...

I'm back from Florida! by
AliceW
One week and 2,600 miles later! Had a great time with my mom, son and DIL.
My mom just loved my DGS and seeing my DSD again. The baby did great on the
way down and back! Ate and slept, ate and slept, ate and slept. It was a
very relaxing ride and I enjoyed my daughter's company immensely. ...

Hanging Wild Quilt by
Joan
I did too want to make the queen size quilt. I did. Only....only after I
began and I saw what it looked like, I had some doubts. Oh, all right, I
had more than a few doubts, but I plunged ahead. Oh, well, it kept my mind
off the election and Popser had something to write about.

Fabric Transfer?? by
Puffins
I figured out how to attach a piece of cotton fabric to a piece of freezer
paper and run it through my printer. Naturally, I did a test and washed a
portion of it and the whole pictures disappeared.
Is there a way to run this through your printer and put it on a quilt? I'm
thinking of having my...

Embroidery floss begfest! by
Kathy Applebaum
Lots and lots of embroidery floss, and it's yours for the begging! :)
I considered marking this OT, but since it could be used in a crazy quilt, I
guess it's ON topic. *grin* Many skeins are new, some have been used a bit.
But since I can't do hand work anymore, no sense in me keeping it.
