Need aurifil? by
Polly Esther[_2_]
There's a good price for aurifil 50 wt over at www.carmenwarehouse.com. $
5.00 per 'orange' spool, I think that's about 1400 yards. Free shipping for
orders of $50.00. The catch? sure, there's one. They don't have white,
black, beige or gray. If you're willing to stitch with something...

The Best of the Swamp by
Polly Esther[_2_]
I want to share with you the graduation quilt for our youngest grandson.
The quilt pattern (more or less) is a Tad Plaid from QNM '02. Most of the
fabrics are Sunshine from Moda. You can see the line in lots of shops, most
of it is shown at The Stitch-N-Frame. The backing, a very special...

Need suggestions for school patchwork by
Melanie Rimmer
My 8-y-o daughter's schoolteacher approached me to ask for my help with
some sewing (I have already been asked to design Joseph's Dreamcoat for
the school production in June - if you want a quiet life, don't let
anyone know you sew!) She and another teacher had seen a patchwork
banner in...

start with this one and scroll on. The pictures aren't great, but you can
get the idea of what I did with my paper template and chalk. I'll soon have
to take this out of my unfinished quilts folder! The binding is sewn...

aurifil thread for hand quilting? by
claudia
Hello Everyone
I've heard/read so much about aurifil on this board that I am wanting
to try it.
I usually do all my piecing and quilting by machine, and if I have
read the postings right, this thread would be great for that.
But what about hand quilting? There is this nagging little voice in
the...

Massive photo frustration (not OT, has to do with quilt photos) by
Sunny[_2_]
My son dropped our camera. The new, expensive camera that is only
shortly out of warranty, which wouldn't have worked for accidental
mangling anyway. I went online and got a live person in chat sort of
setting and we went through troubleshooting the problem. It was very
difficult as obviously this...

so how do you do it with minimal creases? I've noticed many charge for
pressing, but how on earth to I get it to them without the need to do that?

OT - for those who have lost a QI by

A Dog's Purpose (from a 6-year-old)
Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old
Irish wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife, Lisa,
and their little boy, Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and
they were hoping for a miracle.
I examined Belker and found...

OT EQ5 file problems by
Kay Ahr[_2_]
I've visited the new EQ forums, but another member's solution didn't help.
I've always been able to double-click on a PJ5 file and it would then open
in EQ5. Can't do that anymore. I get an error message that says
"C:\Documents cannot be found." I get the option to send a message to...

I'm throwing away a quilt magazine! by
Kay Ahr[_2_]
I have torn out the pages that contain the patterns I want, and the magazine
is actually in the trash can. It's time to cull the magazines. They take
up too much room. This is the first one I've trashed. Oh, the trepidation
.. . . .
Might have to get some chocolate to get through this!
