Gerry Leath
We'll be traveling from Cleveland to Columbus for a woodworking show for DH
this Saturday. Are there any mustn't miss quilt shops that I can drag him
to after my suffering? Thanks. Gail

OT Minor Happy Dance by
melinda
DS is taking his nap in his bedroom, it's not quite finished but finished
enough for him to sleep in which means that I can now read news while he's
napping!

Chuck and Kim
My DH finally went through all this ties and organized them!!! He even
parted with about 20 ties and was about to throw them away so I had him put
them in a plastic bag for me. I remember hearing about quilts being made
out of neck ties but my question is how do you wash a quilt made out of...

Paulette
I have been looking and must have missed it. Who won the Jim Shore Santa &
Sleigh from the Love of Quilting contest. While I really wanted it to be
ME, it obviously was not.
Anyone know?

OT - Useful spam by
Johanna Gibson
Yes, Virginia, there is useful spam. I am not quite sure why, but I
have started getting spam in Russian. So now I have a read and a
laugh before I throw it out - hey, I'm getting some Russian practice
every day! And you know, it is usually much more polite and
interesting than the usual Viagra...

Metallic Thread by
busybee
I have used sulky metallic thread. I was told to used lingerie thread
in the bobbin. Low and behold it worked great. My thread hasn't
broken since and doesn't get knotted up.

Quilting Muddle by
Joan
The holidays, the family visits, the interruptions, the quilts left
undone, and soon I was in the middle of a mess and eager for the new year
to come and straighten me out. At least a little. Too many projects left
on hold, my brain in idle. But the new year did come, and I settled down.
Didn't I?...

Totally Tubular Quilts by
Mardi
Did anyone else here see the Simply quilts segment on this new book
and method. Wow, that sounds like way too much fun. A fast and easy
way to do seminole quilting. I am definitely going to buy that book
even though I have put myself onto a "book diet". I recently started
doing mosaics and went...

OT - another update on us by
Queen of Squishies
They gave DH 2 units of blood and he did not pass out at all yesterday,
after 4 days of passing out when trying to stand. His swelling is from the
shoulder clear down under his arm and down to his waist, including his
shoulder blade in the back. The MRI showed a very small tear, like
something...

it takes muscles! by
Irrational Number
Now that I'm over the first trimester
nausea, I'm starting on a baby quilt
for a friend, hoping to be done by
her shower in two weeks.
WELL! It takes abdominal muscles to
use a rotary cutter! I never knew
that before. Every cut I make, I
feel the tummy muscles contract,
almost like a...

Cotton Theory by
nzlstar
'quilt as you go' method?
make a block, quilt it but not right out to the very edge, then do all the
rest the same, join those blocks, then fill in all the quilting along those
seam lines and bind it.
the only thing i could think of, lol.
