Quilted Baby "Thing" for Grocery Cart by Tia Mary-remove nekoluvr to reply
Hi Guys, Well, the SMDGD is starting to sit up by herself and will soon be mobile enough to sit in the seat of the grocery cart when DD takes her shopping. I have seen those quilted "things" that go in the cart seat area and then you put the baby in them and they keep the little one more secure. ...

Embroidery History Ramblings by Linn Skinner
In furtherance of conversation by Rachel and Dianne. I have often proposed that the history of embroidery is one of elemental, fundamental lineage. What crafts/arts would have first been necessary? Pottery for cooking, basketry for storing/gathering, flint points for hunting,...

New Survey: What do you stitch? by wild
Hi everyone! I´m just in a poll taking frenzy at the moment! Now I´m really interested in what styles people like to stitch the most. I know this is going to be really difficult, because most of us go for several different styles, but I´d prefer it if people could answer for just ONE in each...

Old Wives tale, wisdom or superstition? by Susie Jordan
I started to begin a new project today to add to my short rotation. But then an old saying that my grandmother used to say popped into my mind. She said that if you begin a project on a Friday, you would never finish it. I then remembered when I was a very young mother making clothes for myself...

I need to vent by Jim Mc Namara
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Vic}}}}}}}}}}}} I hope I didn't get any sawdust on ya kiddo. Been there - done that - wish I could do something for you, hon. I've had to raise my pain tolerance so much over the past 4 years - I think I could get hit by a damn car and say "What was that?" Smile when ya can -...

Looking for "Mother and Child" chart by BGO'Rourke
Hi, Everyone! I am looking for the chart to the "Mother and Child" kit that is always in the Needlework Shoppe catalog by Herrschners (the child is on the mother's lap and the colors are very muted). I don't need the entire kit. I have checked the website, but they only sell the kit or the kit and...

Power cuts by Pat Porter
How did you folk get on during the recent huge power outages? I bet the worst problem to those at home was not having the fans and air conditioning going! We`ve been warned to expect power/gas otages if we have a hard winter - so I`ll check on my camping gas stoves and lamps and candles I...

Color of the Month by aeromom
Is there such a thing as a listing of color for each of the months of the year? Say, June would be yellow or something? I know there are birthstones for each month which have color, except for diamonds. Any thoughts? aeromom

Xstitch Sampler Chart Question by Jacquard_The_Ripper
Hi the I saw this wonderful sampler somewhere on the web, and now I can't remember where, or who makes it. It was a traditional looking sampler that was a tribute to a son. It said something like, at the end of my life when God asks what good I did, I can say I had a son. Does that ring any...

The AFARR is in transit to Minnesota. I've updated the web site to show the letters that have been stitched. There's an automated slideshow that goes through the individual letters (you don't have to click to get the next one; just be patient) or you can click on them individually. Beth...

Calendar colors by Felice Friese
Just found the colors, on http://iranscope.ghandchi.com/Fun/colors.htm They list 39 (!) time spans, and also have a key to your nature that that lists fewer colors. Presumably, if your color isn't there, you're a nonentity. Felice
