Renaissance Yarns by
Dorsey
Good evening all:
I'm looking for a source to purchase Renaissance yarns--specifically their
Connecticut Cotton.
Did the Google and ask search and couldn't find any thing. Anyone know of a
retailer on the web?
Thanks

Top too short - ideas? by
Alison
I used the long weekend to finish a cotton top (knit in Knit 1 Crochet
2 Cotonade yarn.) i've been working on this for YEARS. I picked up
the neck stitches, joined shoulders, picked up sleeve edgings, and
only have the side seams to sew. It's too short. I measured it and
it is right for the...

Felting soap by
Bricore
Hello!
This is Dora Renee' Wilkerson. I just wanted to let you all know
that my kids and I felted soap today for the first time. It was fast,
easy, and fun to do. I really enjoyed doing it with them.
I posted a mini video on my blog and a couple of pictures if anyone
would like to see it.

Instant Mittens by
WoolyGooly
My son has lost two pairs of mittens this year. Keep in mind - we
don't live in a particularly harsh climate. We had a 2-day cold snap
in October during which he lost last year's pair that still fit; more
recently we've had chilly weather (including a couple of nights in the
upper 20s) for about...

OT - Okay, who is the wise guy who sent me the snow?!?!? by
MRH
When I went to bed last night it had stopped raining, but was still very wet
on the ground. I got up to use the washroom at 6 after having only about 1
1/2 hours sleep (back to the insomnia bit again. *sigh*) and laying awake
from about 2 AM onward, and everything was covered in snow. I went...

Preconceptions by
Wooly
Grrrr.
At "Back to School" day Thursday my son's teacher said (in front of
about half of the third grade parents) something like "And we're sure
is going to _dress up_ and demonstrate all her quaint
spinning and knitting skills this year at our Prairie Days
re-enactment."
This of course focused...

Good news and Debbie Bliss on and off T. by
Sarah Grace
Hi Everyone
Just wanted to post and let you know that my Dsis had her operation yeaterday
and things are looking good. Despite numerous scans they weren't sure what
they were dealing with until they went in - and were anxious about the size-
but it turned out to be a massive fibroid (somewhere...

Expensive knitting needles by
Faberge made jeweled knitting needles for ostentation. Some had the size
color coded by the large solitaire diamonds or rubies or emeralds set on the
end -- but, most of the real hand knitting in those households was done by
craftsmen (and servants) using steel needles. (Turns out that gold,...

thrifty Wellie Boot-sox by
Cher
Hi all,
I seem forever scouring the charity/thrift shops in my never ending search
for yarns either for weaving or knitting. Well I turned up trumps last week
when I spied 2 x 400 grms balls of Aran navy for a mere one UK pound, they
are normally five and a half times that or more for this...

Anyone here get The Stitchery catalogue? I haven't embroidered for
decades, and I was just about to toss the catalogue in the recycling
when I turned it over and on the back was "Knit Lite." Lighted knitting
needles. Yes!! For a mere $15.95, you can own a pair of plastic
needles (sizes 6,...

Today's denim baby jeans report by

Ribbit, ribbit, ribbit.
It appears that instead of slipping the first stitch on each row, I was
slipping the first stitch over the second stitch on each row. *sigh*

pattern explanation-- please by

Hi, I'm new to your group and to knitting and have been learning quite a bit
from all the posts. I wonder if I could ask a question?
I've started a baby afghan and am following the pattern called "Garter
Stitch Lozenge Pattern" from Vogue Dictionary of knitting stitches. It's in
multiples of 16...
