OT - Not a fashion statement! by
AliceW
So, I had just returned from a half day meeting at work when someone looks
at me and says "What's wrong with your eye?". Not what you want to hear at
any time! When I looked in a mirror, I see what appears to be blood
pooling in the bottom part of my eye - but I'm not bleeding - it's under...

Video of P-nut in Cincinnati by
KimW
That is just awesome Joan. Funny coincidence is that I had just been
listening to 311 on youtube last night when I came across this post, granted
a few days late. I can see why my son is so fascinated by the way P-Nut
plays the bass. He's great.
Hugs,
Kim

Trixie
I just want to say thank you to everyone who gave words of encouragement
when my husband and I were "unquilting" the quilt that ended up with
multiple pleats and folds on the back. The quilt is done:

More linen and general fabric chatter by
NightMist
I was going to reply to Kate but pressed the wrong button and deleted
everything, so I will throw everything in one post which will allow me
to get back to my comfy chair more quickly.
Being as it appears that I am going to spend most of the summer
sitting quietly (AGGGH!) I thought I would see if...

New Name by
Mika
Ok so this is sort of not quilt related just group related and that's why I
didn't put the OT in the subject line. Since I don't think I have to worry
about my stalker from the past anymore, I have decided to use my real name
here from now instead of the nickname. Besides using the nick has just...

Out of Juice by
Sunny[_2_]
I've got several wonderful projects sitting, ready to go. One is even
halfway cut out and is the easiest little lap quilt on earth. But I
can't seem to make anything happen. My beading and embroidery project
is just sitting staring at me. I'm trying to get ready for this "Girls
night out" I'm...

After 20 out of the past 30 days travelling around, I'm (we' DH, QI & I)

switch from motzarella to eternal-september --
Hugs and prayers to all who need them. I missed you guys and gals!

Binding Question by
KimW
My brain is just refusing to cooperate in thinking this through to get the
correct measurements or dimensions or whatever. You know how you sew angles
on the binding to connect the ends and make them stronger? Well I wanted to
do that with the entire binding using two different fabrics so that...

quilting ideas for English Paper pieced & applique quilt by
Lobo
I am finishing up an English paper pieced and applique quilt. I have no
trouble putting all that together, but am stumped as to how to quilt it.
I've googled and found nothing except one photo of McTavishing which would
work well. Am wondering if anyone out there has some other ideas though....

Scrappy Star top pieced by
Michelle C[_3_]
This top has been a long time in the making, over 10 years. I
hand-pieced the blocks--there are 53 of them. After working at the
hand-piecing off an on for years, I was surprised to discover that I was
so near done this year. After sewing the last one, I made quick work of
piecing them...

Placemats by
Sandy
I belong to a Yahoo group of French-speaking quilters who had a BOM over
the course of the past year. I had originally intended to use my 4"
blocks at the background of a quilt I had in mind, but I stupidly used
some fabrics that were just too strong for what I wanted; I discovered
this fairly...

Need advice about old books that smelll like mildew by
Pat in Virginia
My SIL was successful curing many books with sunshine. She placed the books
on a table near her garage door, making sure the pages were fanned out. She
opened the garage door everyday to expose the books to sunshine. It took a
few weeks, but I don't know how long each book was on the table. This...

Busy Times by
Mika
Whew!!! I was so hoping that things would quiet down and slow down once we
got into our house. Oh how wrong I was. The same week we closed on the house
we got the news that two more grandbabies are on the way, due in November.
The remodeling, getting ready for our son's wedding, trying to get...

Ricky Tims Stiff Stuff question by
monique
Has anyone used this? It sounds as if it would be perfect for lining
pale applique pieces destined for a black background, but I'd like to
hear of people's experiences with it. Supposedly it becomes soft after
washing, but would it shift around inside the larger applique pieces...

Video of P-nut in Cincinnati by
Pat in Virginia
Joan:
Wow ... what fun music that is! I'd never heard the 311 music before. (I
mainly just hear a bit of news on the radio on the way to work or such.)
Anyhow, I like it. I read the band 311 is coming to my area this week. I
wonder if it is too late to get a ticket. I wonder about the price too....
