Polymer Clay animal print beads by
Charlie
I've bought these beads from a website and would love to know how to make
some! They're made of polymer clay, but I've never really done anything
with it before. So, all you clay experts, how would you go about making
them? Just remember you're talking to a...

That little diamond drill bit I use! by
Harry
Hiya. Someone asked about the bit I was using to drill those small holes and thought I would post it.
I remembered where I got that little drill bit that I have been using on my shells and the beach glass.
Didn't dawn on me that I bought it when I got my Dremel, ( from the same guy), and my drill...

More Chocolate by
VManes
Ok, there's the M&M thread, the chocolate orange thread - this one will be
the topper.
Found a chocolate cheesecake at Sam's Club - made by Cheesecake Factory, in
conjunction with Godiva. Some sort of anniversary edition, in a gold box.
It's about 7" diameter, 4" high; a bazillion calories per...

AD: TINY seed beads by
Kyla
I bought a hank of seed beads for a necklace, but they are SO TINY, I can't
use them. I don't know what size they are (bought from a wall of hanging
hanks), but a strand of regular sewing thread will fit through it ONCE.
Look like Delicas; cylindrical, thin walls, dark aqua color (like the...

Looking for something... ~OT~ by
Tinkster
When I was in Florida, I saw something in a gift shop that I really
wanted, but didn't get. Now I'm obsessing over finding it. It was a
smallish white porcelain/enamel sign about 8" long and a couple of
inches high that said ARTISTE.
Yeah, I know it's silly. But I want that for my studio. I have...

Intro and bead show questions. by
Grant
Hello all,
This is my first post to the group. I make beads from polymer and precious
metal clay and am trying to figure out what the best shows are for selling
handmade beads. I am on the west coast and have done BABE in Oakland, the
Nor Cal Bead Society show, the Portland Bead Society show and...

Got my e-bay win! by
Helen C
Just wanted to share. A lot prettier colors than on screen. And they're
all the same tone (matte pearl?) type bead. And the green matched this one
bead I was looking at for a necklace with a black/green bead I have. Now,
should get my glasses on friday and it'll be on to creating (right...

Look what I have by
Christina Peterson
I got these beads
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2675884340&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:US:6
but didn't have any beads to mutch them. They look even purpler, but way
bluer than any amethyst stone I have. So off to the beadstore I went. The
most expensive one was between stops I...

How does this happen? (boro question) by
Kyla
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34070&item=2683509548
See the swirls in the bumps? Is that just a characteristic of the type of
glass, or are they put there? I love boro glass; it always has these
swirls, and even the clear(ish) pieces look like they have a hundred...

*Plastic* beads? by
Kyla
What is the difference between acrylic and resin beads? I know I don't
really like acrylic beads; they don't look nice, work up nice, or look very
nice. But, I've seen some really pretty pieces, and found out they were
made with RESIN beads. They still had hefty pricetags, but I'm well...

Using a Draw Plate OT? by
Tinkster
Not sure if this is OT or not...
I have a lot of fine silver wire that is just a wee bit too large for
what I want to do with it. Could I get a draw plate and pull it down
to about 30 gauge?
