Easter Morning by
WoolyGooly
Certain somebodies have hunted eggs, gorged on chocolate, and are now
lolling on the couch moaning about bellyaches. Shades of Halloween
past :D
I have finished the body of and picked up the edging for a different,
less picky shawl than the Cursed Pi.
I will, however, return up the Pi today and...

Woolite by
Macaroni
For anyone concerned about Woolite because it contains bleach, it does not
according to the manufacturer. Quoting from the back of my nearly empty
container: "WOOLITE Fabric Wash does not contain bleach, phosphates or
enzymes, which can be harsh on your clothes." The labeling indicates that...

A new picture by
Shillelagh
Hi Gang!
I'm almost finished a baby sweater (need to buy and sew on buttons) and a
cap for my DIL who is due next month. I used a very bright variegated
acrylic yarn in blue/red/orange, with a touch of green here and there.
They've been told it's a boy, and she was excited about the bright...

beginner sock knitter by

I'm coming to all of you pro's before diving into sock knitting. I've
been knitting for years, and have done everything from hats and
scarves to sweaters, plus beaded knitting. I've done lots of hats for
charity, etc., but would like to have something small and portable to
have in my bag for in...

FO: Cabled Cardigan by
hesira
It's finally done! And just in time for some unseasonably chilly
weather here in South Mississippi.
The pattern is from Vogue Knitting Fall 2006, #19, Margaret O'Leary's
Cabled Cardigan. I used Knit Picks Wakashan 100% baby alpaca instead
of the cashmere blend called for. It's really...

Latest jumper by
Bernadette
I've finished the latest jumper which is similar to a pattern I had
years ago but which got lost on one of our house moves. From what I
remembered I managed to work out something pretty near to the original.
It is knitted in Sirdar Double Knitting (equivalent to sportweight) a
100% Acrylic yarn....

Wildfoote Sock Yarn by
DAB
I ordered 6 skeins in 3 different colors and should get them by Sat. I was
wondering if any here have used this for socks and what you thought. I like
Lambs Pride for hats. I started a pair of socks using Opal and didn't like
how it felt....not much give or spring so I hope the wildfoote will...

blocking/washing? by
myswendy
Hi all!
I just finished my very first doll clothes project--a beaded white
sweater with buttons down the back.I have blocked it and sewn the
seams up. My question is this: It needs both a final blocking as well
as a washing in Woolite (I presume). Which do I do first? Does the
washing essentially...

working with chenille by
myswendy
Oh brother! Serves me right! Got a ton of Lion Brand chenille for $2 a
skein at the local Ocean State Job Lot store. Gorgeous stuff, but it's
giving me fits to work with! No, not "worming"--Sizing!
I was in Fat City while making a lovely ribbed scarf. My troubles

Doll sweater finished! by
myswendy
Ok, call me proud. Call me nutz. Call me redundant.
I finally got the website squared away to show off my little 4-inch
sweater! VP was kind enough to help me with the technical parts (I'd
rather be knitting) and get 'er up there on the web.
It worked out to gauge but I am still concerned it will...

Question on Stranded/Fair Isle boarders by
No Name
How come we do not do them any more?
I had not done any stranded work for awhile, but for the last few days, I
have been doing many swatches with stranded boarders and looking at
traditional garment designs. Stranded boarders are so practical and
decorative! But, I just do not see them in...

buttons? by
Cindy
Hi there--
I'm a glass maker . I've started
to make glass buttons and am wondering if anyone has ideas about where
to market them, and more importantly, what're considered the marks of
a quality button--short shank, long shank, drilled holes, glued
shanks, glass shanks....I really have no idea. ...
