Solved! blasted walking foot skipping stitches by
jennellh
Glad the size 14 needle did the trick - I remember reading years ago
that open seams were not a good idea if the quilting plan was for
stitch in the ditch - the idea being that there might be a tendency to
snap the seam stitches with the quilting. It is a personal choice and
certainly there are...

New Alex/Ricky program by
Susan Laity Price
I just read the details of the new Alex Anderson/Ricky Timms on-line
program. I don't mind paying the $16.95 or what ever the fee. What I
mind is they say to make sure my computer is set-up to accept
"cookies" from them. I don't want their cookies. There is a way to
allow them to place cookies...

2006-2007 BOM for February by
Dannielle
Geez! Some of you are pretty impatient! I was thinking of waiting
until tomorrow and then pull some kind of Groundhog Day movie
joke....but I guess I'll just post it now and forget the funny stuff!
Just a reminder, this is the next to last BOM posting! The 2007-2008
BOM will need a new hostess,...

Pillowcase dresses for little girls by
pami
You can use real pillowcases, or material. This is perfect if you come upon
a pillowcase with embroidery on it, or a fancy laced hem (like the vintage
ones). The flowered pillowcases also make adorable summer dresses for
babies, and toddlers, or you can put a long-sleeved shirt under it for...

Solved! blasted walking foot skipping stitches by
Roberta Zollner
The tradition comes from hand quilting, where you try to avoid having to
stitch through extra layers. Anything with ditch outlining would benefit if
the extra layers were all on the other side. But for machine quilting, no
reason, as long as your stitch length is small enough not to gap and your...

Puppy Bowl by
Jill -Critter Comforts
For all you non-football fans, the Animal Planet will be showing The
Puppy Bowl III on Sunday at 3, 6, and 9 pm. This year they've added a
kitten halftime show.
If you haven't seen this before, it's too cute for words.
Thanks again for all your help and support of needy animals.

Begging for squares by
Witchy Stitcher
I have convinced my 4th graders to learn to sew and make hug quilts
for AIDS babies and for the patients of a local hospice. I am
providing most of the fabric, but if you have any left over 4.5"
squares from any projects you would like to donate, we are still in
need of fabrics. I am in the old...

OT - did someone get a new hairdo in London? by
Hanne Gottliebsen
I seem to have a recollection that someone here got a new hairstyle at a
London Salon within the last few months, but I can find the message???
Am I dreaming, or can someone else find it for me please?
I'm thinking of getting a (new) hairstyle, but since I'm clueless on
that kind of stuff I'd...

Washed fabric? Yes, certainly! Anything from my stash

Putting my star blocks together by
MaleQuilter
I now have all of my eight point star blocks completed and started to
sew the rows of blocks together. Oops, I am having a very hard time
stitching over the "bumps". As I completed sewing each block I
carefully pressed the seams of the block in whichever way would lay
the flattest. It would...

I threw away my current catalog in a fit of housecleaning.... darn

number and let me know- either by posting or email? Searching thru

Quilt Sampler magazine by

Quilt Sampler magazine has been showcasing top 10 quilt shops once or twice
a year for many years now. Do any of you know if there is a list of all the
shops that have been featured over the years? I've googled about every way
I can think of and only come up with one shop at a time. I'm going...
