OT just QI nonsense by
Polly Esther
I know it will be hard for you city folks to imagine but here in the
remote swamp, everybody talks to everybody. We talk to the grocery store
checker and whoever's next in line. We invite a person in a hurry to come
on ahead while we visit. We admire the beautiful babies and plan supper...

University Challenge - part 2 by
Johanna Gibson
Hello folks!
Well, not only have I been selected for the team, but as the team
leader! My areas to brush up on are contemporary politics, modern
American and British history (areas where these countries have worked
together) and the geography of North and South America. I said I knew
North...

rag quilting - sew seams open? by
hmharris
When you are doing a rag quilt and sewing all the blocks together - where
the blocks come together are the two seams from each side sewn OPEN or to
one side? Either way it looks like they have to be clipped to rag it but I
don't know whether to sew them down open or to one side?
Thanks!
Helen

Too beautiful to cut by
Polly Esther
You've talked here before about fabric you just could not cut. I believed
you but hadn't come across one myself. Well, somehow it happened to me.
It's a magnificent deep sea scene with very real turtles and bright fish.
Oh my. So pretty. I couldn't bear to even fussy cut.
Scissors in...

Irrational Number
For those who don't know, Pillbug is almost
4 and autistic.
Pillbug does not like toys, only real things.
DH requested on his photography board for
someone to send us a broken camera because
Pillbug has always had a fascination for
cameras. A wonderful man in Canada sent
us a camera, two stuffed...

Has anybody else been having any problems in this regard?..

Tear or Cut? by
Patti S
Many, many years ago, when I was in high school, my sewing teacher told
us when we bought fabric to NEVER let them tear it, as it pulled it off
grain. Yesterday, while in my LQS, the lady ahead of me asked that they
tear, instead of cut, as it kept the fabric ON grain. For decades, I've
been...

Batiks for $6.50 per yard! NAYY by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
Got an email ad from an online store I patronize. She has very fair
shipping rates and excellent service-
There's still too many batiks on the shelf, so let's continue with the
$6.50 per yard sale through this Monday, April 30th! Price
adjustments will be done on receipt of order so don't be...

suggestions needed by
Dorothy
I'm disabled and can not get down on the floor or kneel to pin a quilt
top. I do have one of those PVC type floor model quilt frames for hand
quilting but machine quilting would not work on that. I do not have
any large enough tables to tape down the backing and my bed is not any
help as it is a...

Source for orange ball fringe by
Debi Matlack
Anybody got a cheap one? Or about six yards they no longer want? It's an odd
project at work that I somehow have gotten roped into (without too much
effort I must say). Even stranger since I work for a veterinary teaching
hospital....
Anyone? Bueller? ;-)

I have returned- do I look any different? ;-) by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
Darn Google! I haven't had any posts in over two days, so I bit the bullet,
as they say, and subscribed to news.individual.net on the excellent advice
and assistance that Jeri sent to me thru an email. I'm glad I did! It's
sooooooooo worth the tiny price to get ALL the posts and be able to...

CATS
.. . . . . the rain forecast for last night arrived this
evening. Words cannot describe how happy everyone is to see
even this little bit of rain, and more is forecast for next
week. There have been good falls west of us too.
Aahhhh! The lovely sound of pit-pat on the roof!!

I'm goin' in! by
teleflora
Ok, I finished piecing a simple table topper last night out of charm
squares. It's a patriotic type fabric and I figured stars.
Free-motion stars.
I'm takin' the plunge so if you don't hear from me in a few days, call the
free-motion quilting police.
Go on about your bidness. Nothing to see...

Bulk machine needles sources?? by
Charlotte Hippen
I know one person here said that they had once purchased a 100ct. pk of
machine needles at JoAnns. I check my local JoAnns and either they no
longer carry them, or they are not carried at my location. Where do the
rest of you get your bulk machine needles from?? Any online places to avoid...

didn't we say... by
Anne Rogers[_2_]
wasn't there some mention of a meetup at the quilting and sewing outlet
store near Southcenter. I think it was suggested and several requested to
delay until after easter.
Anyway, I went there to day, it's not easy to find as the sign is low down,
but I spotted it the 2nd time past. They don't...

decided on the dark blue by
Brian Christiansen
I decided on the dark blue for the binding. Now I just have to get around
to actually cutting it and making it into binding. I pondered working out
the lengths and putting a different color on each edge, but decided that a
single color would tie the whole thing together better.
The reason that I...

Good news, Bad news by
Boca Jan
It always seems like this is the story, good news, bad news. I was offered a
position and have accepted their offer. I have been looking for work off and
on for awhile. We need to firm up our retirement plans in 6 years. The only
problem is my quilting will be taking a nose dive. Since I watch...
