http://www.flickr.com/photos/onetexsun/6841815272/in/photostream I finished (right at the deadline) my swap 'doll' quilt for the flickr.com group Fab Little Quilt Swap. I'm happy with the result and intend to make one for myself. But I think I may be done with swaps and trades and give-aways and...

Going to a fibre show by Hanne in DK
So, the camera battery is charging ('cause I only just remembered to check that and the memory card - oops). Tomorrow I'm going across half my country (which is thankfully pretty small) for the annual family girls' day out. I will go with my brother GF and we'll meet with my Mum and her sister....

My daughter recently bought on ebay a Singer 401a and took it to her local sew&vac store for a deep clean, because it constantly produced a nest of gopher guts after about every 12" of decent stitching. The repair guy said he would take it all apart, soak off all the accumulated years of dried oil,...

I'm thinking you need to show Betsey (expecting a new Bernina soon) how to join the Bernina group. Mostly I have no idea what they're talking about but I enjoy the company. Polly

Janome 6600P - Price? by Karen[_2_]
Hi everyone, I have been a lurker since October 2005 when I purchased my Janome at the Houston Quilt Festival. I want to sell it and want to know if anyone has purchased one in the last six months and what you paid for it. It is hardly used and at my age with a full time job I had to be realistic...

God bless the teachers by Polly Esther[_5_]
If you teach quilting ( well. If you teach Anything) God bless you. Just now I'm in a real snit and wonder why I don't just say "That's nice" and keep my mouth shut. Beginner quilter brought her creation to show me. She had an area about 18" x 24" *unquilted*. I urged her to put in more...

Viking #1 help by lindaray
I have a Viking #1. I have had it about 20 years now. It is a great machine. It has always been in a temperature contolled environment. And not exposed to sunlight. Just recently, I noticed about 5 or 6 of the cassettes are cracked. They seem to still work but I am afraid to use them. Has...

Has anyone found (fabric) Jelly Rolls uneven? by Susan Laity Price
Thought I better but the word fabric in the subject line so we won't waste time on all the pastry comments. I sewed with a Jelly Roll package for the first time today. It was a Hoffman Batik for which I pay $36! Every piece was to have been a 2 1/2" strip. I was very disappointed at how poorly...

3D sketch software by Linda[_4_]
Has anyone here used the 3D or 4D sketch software from Husqvarna Viking? I am trying to learn to use it to turn some line drawings into embroidery files to use for quilting. Tracing with the pen on the tablet is not as easy as it sounds. Is there a better way to do this? Linda

update after the "meeting" with the principal by off kilter [email protected]
Well, my slow burn/long fuse husband is livid. He is formulating an email to the superintendent, assistant superintendent, principal, vice principal, and head of pupil services as I type this. As we walked out of the office, his comment to me was, "next step, board of education"...and he...
