OT Welcome sweet spring time by
Polly Esther[_5_]
The 1st day of spring (for us) is this coming Sunday. I honestly wondered
if it was going to happen. We've been hibernating in 20° days for waaaay
too long. Didn't know what was going on with the robins. They usually
visit here in late December and they've just today arrived.
Oh my wow. ...

Directory by
Kate in MI[_3_]
In my computer woes over the past several weeks.... did I by chance miss
the directory?
I know they were at the proofing stage a month or 2 ago -- but haven't seen
or heard anything in a while. Just wondering if I missed it.
Thanks

PING: Butterfly PING PING PING by

I FOUND THE LIGHTS!!! B'fly -- remember about a year and a half ago
you were talking about the Christmas Tree wall hanging your DD was
making??? I *think* you were the one who said it just needed some light
to make it look very real. I chimed in saying I had battery operated
lights that I...

OUT of ICU by
Butterflywings
Out of the woods but still in the forest.
They DID save DD's foot and had to do both a muscle and skin graft. So far
all look like they're healing well. Still in a lot of pain: 3 very sore
spots now instead of just her foot. But they saved it!!!!!!!!!
Spending a lot of time with her....just...

Gadget Alert: new slant on old problem by
Sartorresartus
As you all know, I take my quilting around with me a lot.
I have been trying to master the art of using an Aunt Becky on my
underneath finger. It makes logical sense, but it takes some getting
used to. Whole new technique yada, yada. The problem until yesterday
was that I kept putting the...

new Elm Creek Quilts website ? by
Kay Ahr
Anyone been to the new site yet? Got an email from Jennifer Chiaverini
announcing it, but the link just took me to the old site. The old site then
said that it had been redesigned and maybe rearranged.

of another project. Nothing fancy, just a cover for the fireplace to keep
the cold air from coming in! One morning we actually had ice on the slate
fireplace surround!!

A sewing tote for the guys. by
Bonnie Patterson[_2_]
That paint works very well. And, I love tool boxes. I have one with
electrical stuff (TV, computer, telephone, lamp, sewing machine), one
with tole painting gear, one with "tools", and the new yellow one with
pockets around the outside that Jim bought me for my "sewing gear".
I have been using...

Glue sticks and potholders by
Brian Christiansen
Two things came up recently, and I thought I would ask about both of them in
the same post.
In another group that I read, rec.food.cooking, recently there was a
discussion about pot holders, and somone mentioned making your own
(http://www.allfreecrafts.com/sewing/oven-mitts.shtml). Someone...

rag quilt question by
claudia
Good afternoon everyone!
I am about to embark on the rag quilt adventure. I have several baby
quilts that I need to do, so this might be suitable.
Quick question; does the fabric have to be flannel? Or can I get away
with using flannel for the bottom square only, using no flannel cotton
for theop...

OT - British TV by
Teleflora
hulu.com has opened up a whole new world for me in TV land. I'm discovering
really good television DOES exist, unfortunately, a lot of it is produced in
Great Britain and not easily accessed here in the States.
I've watched every available episode of Wire in the Blood and Doc Martin.
Can any...

Pay Attention, important, bleeding thread by
Polly Esther[_5_]
Now I know that most of you think of me as just a pretty face if you think
of me at all . . . or you might have noticed my sense of humor even when
it's totally uncalled for. Just this once, I'm serious so pay attention.
Nice neighbor made a sweet little ruffled dress for baby shower this...

A real happy happy dance by
Maureen Wozniak[_2_]
As some of you may remember, I got flooded out of my basement studio last
May. Just after we'd gotten all the ick from the flood cleaned up, it
flooded again in August (fortunately not as bad the second time around.) So
I've been without my sewing space for about 9 months.
Yesterday we...

Sewing lessons for kids by

I'm thinking about giving a friends daughter some 1-1 sewing classes
as part of her birthday present. She is going to be 8.
I found this site:
http://www.kids-sewing-projects.com/
which looks pretty good.
I'd prefer to go straight for the sewing machine, but skipping things
like how to thread it...

OT; Sewing Cabinet finished and in place by
John
Like the subject says: https://picasaweb.google.com/ljtaylor33/RecentlyCompleted#5575126682239921170
Two views. In place and close-up. I think it fits, and is of course
most useful for my sewing purposes, but it also doubles as a TV Remote/
Coffee cup table top space. Win-Win.
