What's It Called? by Sharon
What do you call the stitch or method that you can get on a lot of sewing machines these days - the one that regulates your stitches so that they're even when you're doing free-motion quilting? I'm making a list of stuff I want to make sure my next machine has - my trusty old Kenmore is sounding...

I posted in another thread a day or two ago that I'd finished a quilt I've been working on since January. I took a class from Bethany Reynolds called Circular Logic and had lots of fun doing it. I finished piecing the quilt top fairly quickly, but then the quilt languished while I tried to...

July block 2007/2008 RCTQ BOM by Jessamy[_2_]
How this BOM works is I will post block patterns each month near the beginning of each month. One is pieced, one appliqué and one paper pieced. It is up to you which one (or ones) you would like to do. You will work at your own pace over the course of each month. You keep your blocks. You do not...

Baby Loc help please by Denise in NH
Google isn't my friend today. A friend just picked up a Baby Loc #1220 at a yard sale, but without the user's manual. I told her I would try to find a manual online. No luck so far. Could anyone here please direct me to a site for these. Ebay doesn't work very well with a webtv. Denise in NH

OT - Something to consider? by jennellh
If you're thinking about your future and wondering just how you'll manage for yourself when you're elderly, you might get a smile (and some ideas) from this item that a friend recently sent me: No Nursing Home for Me. About 2 years ago my wife and I were on a cruise through the...

Flying Geese Charts by Pat in Virginia
I know how to make the no waste flying geese units with one large square, and four small squares to yield four units. Is there a chart that lists the proportions? Thanks. PAT

My Art Quilt Video by Erin
This vid is me, showing my Art Quilts and felted "treasure boxes." The boxes are the Little Treasures pattern, only felted instead of quilted. I'm afraid I am speaking Swedish with a VERY strong "John Wayne" accent despite 13 years here!!! How embarassing!...

OT Update by ~KK in BC~
Working on things around here. Got more bags of garbage than I know what to do with! On the good side though, I really needed to clean out my basement of clutter and junk anyway and this is as good of a motivator as anything! The smell is hanging on though, I hate that wet dog/mildew/dirt smell...

Art Round Robin Project by Sunny[_2_]
Months ago our group decided to take a piece of art, blow it up really big, cut it into sections and each of us take two sections and make them however we wanted to. Then we would put the sections all back together, quilt the thing, and put it in the Guild show this fall. I was skeptical, but...

To Wash or Not To Wash? by Sherry
Bear with me, please, this isn't your usual wash-or-not question. First, I always wash fabric first. But I participated in a "Block of the Month" at LQS in which the lady pre-cut the fabric into very small blocks for piece cutting. Too small to wash, I thought. So I put the thing together...

just curious - order of factors by claudia
Hello I'm just curious: when you want to make a quilt for someone as a gift, how do you go about deciding on what to choose? Do you choose the fabric and then decide on the pattern or do you decide on a pattern and then choose the fabric? I often find that I see a fabric or fabric series that...

Unexpected gift by Butterflywings
Our painter was over the other day and noted my cup/saucer collection. This AM he stooped by with the tiniest ones I've seen in years. One is a bit bigger than an INCH and the other is almost 2". He asked for a "drop of coffee" LOL They are soooooo neat :) Butterfly (some ppl are observant:)

Thank You Butterfly and Pati Cook by felwyn
Thanks so much for your advice on altering a beaded top, it came out very well. I don't think anyone would know it was altered, and fits perfectly. Sewing the seam with a zipper foot worked fine. I also found some 'easy thread needles' which made moving short beading threads to the back very...
