quilting advice needed by
Allison
Does anyone have experience putting together a quilt where the blocks
are already heavily embellished? This is a group art project where the
participants made their own blocks and I'm helping at the last steps.
It's just simple squares with narrow sashing so assembling the top
should be ok but...

Would this work? by
Pat S
Some time ago, just for fun, I made up a quilt design using small
squares, large squares, small rectangles and large rectangles (as you
do!). The quilt size is determined by the size of the small square, as
all the other components are multiples of it.
Later, I was asked to design a collection...

Fair quilt and school by
Steven Cook
Dropped my quilt off at the fair after school today. Got some oohs and aahs
from the gatherers already. Worried about some minor puckers on the back
through. We shall see. Also a chance to catch a few glimpses of other quilts
being dropped off. Looks like it will be a good show/fair this year....

Design play by
Kim Graham[_2_]
I’ve been puttering in EQ7 and thought everyone might enjoy seeing what
happened when I combined two Bible blocks - Jacob's Ladder from Word in
Patchwork and Children of Israel from the Genesis to Job series.

I've had one or two emails asking about the...

Help me find fabrics in these colours by
Hanne in DK
(For Polly: I found another way to show the colours! So I'm reposting my
question from the FB group)
OK, I'll be sewing a bit for a baby that is about to enter my family
(no, not my own!). The quilt I will totally decide everything myself -
gotta keep some control :-)
However, I was asked (and...

the group by
Roz
I was a member years ago and thought the group had closed. Was so shocked the other day when I got a notification. Only looked at a few postings and was glad to see some familiar names. I used to sign Roz in Montreal, but now just sign as Roz. Take care.

Making quilt labels by
amy in SoCal
Wow! Sandy! that is great! I'm still using iron on transfers for my labels and coloring them in with Pima color pens! They still come out good and since I don't have an embroidery machine anymore....no other options that are space-friendly.
I do wish I had kept my serger tho! Used to do the label...

OT new eye tomorrow by
Polly Esther[_5_]
I get my close-vision bionic lens tomorrow morning early. Please hold me up
and close. They do it so quickly that there won't be time for a real stash
raid but you're welcome to try. Bring the gators some chicken or an
insurance adjustor. No local Inspectors of any kind please; the gators have...

QNNtv any good? by
Janner
I've just had an email 50% off a year's subscription to QNNtv.
Just wondering if anyone else subscribes, what do you think of it? is
it worth doing?
Living in Europe, I have no access to quilting shows on TV, but would
love some inspiration as I haven't quilted very much for a long...

A weekend spent inspiring New Quilters by
Lizzy Taylor
I'm recovering from a weekend spent at the Manchester Mini Maker Faire
held at the Museum of Science and Industry. I spoke to lots of new
quilters many of who said they were inspired to go away and continue by
seeing my stuff - wow, what a buzz that has given me! I explained about
sandwiching,...

Games Quilters Play by
Twila P
Sometime within the next few months I'll be responsible for our quilt
guild's monthly meeting. Usually we have some kind of a demo or a talk
about a quilting related subject. I'd like to "get out of the box" and
do something different. A game night comes to mind only I need help in
figuring out...

Gingher utility scissors? by
Steven Cook
Does anyone remember the Gingher Utility scissors? At least I think they
are Gingher. Mom has a pair and I'm so tired of spending money on junky
scissors at our house and the frustration that Bert and I are having. I've
checked out the Gingher web site and none to be found. Any suggestions...

BEST rotary blades? by
Polly Esther[_5_]
I am down to my very last pack of 45 rotary blades. A scary situation. It's
been a year, maybe two since we hunted down the best buy; seems like we
found it on ebay. As you would expect, I've changed my mind. This time, I
don't want cheapest; would like to try what's best. By best I may mean...

OT The Cat and the Fiddle by
NightMist
So DH has been learning violin for about 3 months plus a little.
As usual he has made astounding progress in little time.
Thorncat, thinks he is a God.
Normally she is not inclined to have much to do with him.
When he starts playing that fiddle though, her ears perk up, she runs
right over to...
