more baltimore questions by
Anne Rogers[_3_]
I'm getting deeper into planning a baltimore style album quilt, it's so
much fun and I haven't even got any fabric yet! I do plan to go with
traditional colours, I love red and green and though I can appreciate
some of the colour schemes in some modern interpretations, they are not
for me!
I...

Spray Starch by
Mickie Swall[_2_]
I use a lot of spray starch during quiltmaking. Once upon a time (just this year)
was able to purchase Niagara Starch in a non-aerosol plastic spray bottle. Now
the stores no longer carry starch in this type of bottle, they are back to the cans.
I would like to empty the contents of the aerosol...

OT More handbag stuff by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
Now I have a dilemma. I do not like raw seam edges inside the bag. Some
patterns that I looked at had the sewist zig-zag the raw edge after sewing
and then left them raw. I've been using what I *think* is called a French
seam. You sew the edges together with the wrong sides (or linings) of...

What to do with all the thread by
John
I have recently been on a thread buying binge. It has mostly shown up
and gads it is a lot of thread. There are cones, there are spools,
lots and lots of spools. So, the time has come to find a place for
them. I am halfway through making a very interesting thread cabinet.
The main part will have 5...

Flannel Binding by
Sandy in Northern Idaho
Hi all, I am new to the group, been reading for a couple of weeks.
Now I have a problem I need help with. I've made a flannel quilt and
can't find anything on the proper or suggested way to bind it.
Specifically, I was wondering if I should use my normal double fold
binding. With the added...

Little clover iron rest - FYI by
Val
I remember reading the thread about flimsy rests for the Little Clover iron
and the hot glue rhinestone thingy. I found a cute. teensy little cast iron
skillet *many* years ago that I use, apparently it's actually a spoon rest.
It must have been some sort of 'give away' long ago from 'Lodge'...

Hi all,
I have been working for three weeks and am now adjusting to working full
time although it was very hard at first..
There has been some sewing but mainly hand-sewing for my annual Family
Christmas craft gifts. That's about all I can manage without nearly falling
asleep.
My pay-packet...
