spinninglilac
Found this on the net if anyone is interested and wants to try it out. This

beads to the spokes etc..Bit of history then how to do them...Cheers...Cher

OT but perhaps we could all learn something from this. by
Bernadette
A friend pointed me in the direction of this story. It gave me hope
that, despite our differences, we can all learn to live together and
respect each other.

Would like your advice/ideas by
Soozergirl
Hi, I am visiting my brother who lives in New Jersey this weekend. He has
cancer and probably won't be around more than about a year. I'm totally
bummed about this - he's 51. Anyway, I just thought (well, DUH) that a nice
knitted quilt/afghan might be nice for him - I think he would like it...

Knitting speed ?? by
Had a speed trial this morning.
With circular needles, I knit ~ 100 stitches per minute.
With DPN and sheath, I knit ~ 160 stitches per minute. I'm sure some of you
can do better than that with circulars, but it is better than the 20 spm
that I was doing 4 years ago when I asked the group for...

What is the equivalent to Lyscordet? by
Yvonne
Hi everyone
Couldn't find a newsgroup specifically for knitting or crochet but this one looks fun!
I'm based in the UK and am thinking about making a top using a pattern
that states you need 5 x 50g balls Twilleys Lyscordet. That seems to
be an expensive option. Just wondering what Lyscordet is...

LF: OU Sooners patterns - crochet by

I've done a little googling, but with no luck, I'm looking to get a jump on
football season and make some OU related things in crochet (blankets, seat
cushions, what ever I might find) But can't find anything. Any one have some
links to OU or other school related crochet patterns.

My neice Jess (recipient of many hand knitted things from me and
crocheted things from her mama, the one who loves "made" things) was
over last weekend. Mom and Dad watched her and her little brother
while I went up town to study for my wastewater certification exam...

Novelty Yarn Necklace by
Gina Beirne
I am looking for guidance in making a novelty yarn necklace like some I have
seen recently. They look to be multiple strands of eyelash and/or railroad
yarns twisted together. The yarns are inserted into beads at either end, and
they have a clasp like a necklace. They are quite short (choker...

materials for knitting socks by
talenknot
I wanted to start a knitting project and knit socks for my entire family, but I'm a bit new when it comes to yarn (most of my projects have mainly been in sewing :P). I've shopped around at both offline and online sites such as these, and found that yarn comes in a variety of different materials...

Anyone working on anything? by
Olwyn.Mary
I am mostly busy sewing, making some fall and winter clothes, but the
asthma has subsided enough that I now feel I can knit while watching the
tv news. Nothing complicated, mind you, just something to keep the
fingers busy. So, I pulled out an old pattern - from the 1960s I think,
I bought it...

Hello Does anyone out there know a source for the backing needed for the Tapimatic rug making machine? It is a type of latch hook backing with a double mesh, 3.3 holes. It has to be double mesh. The Zweigert mesh I tried did not work. I would really like to be able to use the machine....

Hello Post by
Millie
Hi
I've posted a couple of times but been mainly lurking for a couple of
months.
I've been knitting since my Mum taught me when I was little, unlike a
lot of you I only knit from patterns but I pride myself that given the
pattern I can knit anything.
My Mum has never been able to crochet (except...
