Filling Holes in Glass by
TB
I'm in the process of doing an experiment on the temperature
distribution and lag in a thick piece of glass and was looking for
some advice.
I've had a 45mm thick piece of glass drilled with water jet cutting
(no one in my area was willing to drill glass this thick and the
waterjet person was...

Colored etched glass by
Joey
I have a friend who says you can purchase etching creams that leave
the etched areas of glass tinted with various colors. I have been
unable to find such a product. Does this exist? Is there some sort of
technique that I can use to achieve the same effect?

Has anyone here ever checked out http://www.wetcanvas.com/index.php?
I have been a member of WetCanvas for a while and would like to see more
glass stuff. I think there are some great people over there and from what I
have seen they are quite helpful to folks.

Problems with a small/medium sized glass casting ... by
[email protected]
Hello All,
I've been casting for the past 4 years (average of 5-6 casts a
month of something or the other). I've been using plaster+silica moulds
with chicken wire as needed. I've had reasonable results so far EXCEPT
for this one exasperating piece ...
This is a piece about 9"x4"x6" - it's a...

Real time posts? by
David W
I haven't posted to Rec.crafts.glass for several years. One thing I
don't understand is, why is there no real time posting? And, why does
it seem like some people view new posts sooner than others? From the
emails I've gotten, people were responding to my post long before I
saw it show up on the...

cracks in the fused Spectrum sheets by
Davis
Here are some of reasons can caused glass broken after laminating,
1. invisible scratch in glass surface which make each part of glass
unable to shoulder the same force.
2. higher shrinkage of resin interlayer
3. poor flexibility of resin interlayer, which is major reason that
Unilam resin layer...

desiglass
I've been away from stained glass for a little while and now that I want to
make a little project I find that my foil seems to have lost it's
