With sadness.... by
Dreamweaver
I share with you the passing of Ms. Shirley Minor. Shirley passed
peacefully in her sleep at 5:45 am this morning with one of her two sons and
her daughter by her side. I was there until 11:45 p.m.. She was at peace,
without pain, clear and talking until the end.
She treasured the blocks you...

Quitting Day, Again (A Popser story with quilt) by

Sometimes I ask myself, "What am I doing here at this sewing machine with
all this fabric and thread?" I never really have time to answer that
question, do I?
But, for a couple of days, I had this thought. If only....

rough week with a happy on topic ending, LONG by
Lisa Caryl
This was kind of a rough week around our house. I had surgery on Tuesday for
problems I've been having for almost a year now. My OB/GYN doctor removed
two polyps that my regular doctor had dismissed as "nothing". (All he did
was send me home with pain pills and told me "they never do anything...

Hand sewing thread by
Marlys in Indiana
Would any of you recommend using silk thread to hand stitch the backside
of the binding on a quilt? I was thinking that by using an very thin silk
thread the stitches would be "invisible" and also there would be no
shredding
of the thread from the eye of the needle.
Does this sound like a good...

Good Feeling! by
Donna
Got up this AM determined to straighten sewing room!! The grandkids are
coming in a week and they use that room's TV to hook up the Playstation!! I
can now see the top of the daybed in there. Now to sort through the fabric
in piles in the closet!!

Rant or Ode to my Sewing Machine by
Mary in Washington
I fixed a large cup of my favorite coffee
And joined you in your room
You have never failed me before my dear
When fancy stitching needed to bloom.
Your tension was a mess
Your needle dull and sad
And half way through the ripping
You knew I was really mad.

OT Happy Dance by

I got a job!!! Not big bucks but a woman in late 50s that hasn't worked
outside the home much in over 30 years can't expect that either. I probably
start tomorrow.

OT Pressing silk by
Judie in Penfield NY
I need to press a silk dress and am not sure how, do I need to use a
pressing cloth? should I press on the wrong side? It's a dress, not for a
quilt, but I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks,
Judie in Penfield NY

came across this on my newsgroup and thought it might be something for
your homeschooling group. Kind of scary how dangerous a patio table can be.

Sharon Harper
For about 2 hours on Sunday when he lands in Melbourne from Korea/Japan and
then heads of to the USA same day.
I wasn't going to go in to the airport namely because it would cost a fair
