More about angles by
the black rose
Remember that Jinny Beyer quilt ("Mayflowers") that I was trying to
figure out the angles? The one that's $172 in a kit?
Well, you can't buy the pattern online (they said they're working on
getting patterns onto their website), but you CAN order just the pattern
by phone. I called the toll-free...

Batiks by
maryd
This may sound like a strange dilemma but.......... I have several batik FQs
and I'm having trouble with selecting other fabrics to use with them.
Anyone have pictures of blocks using batiks?

I use the clover one on my teeny needles and it works. It is off white
and has a capped wire on both ends. Just making sure you looked at the
right one.

Another Beautiful bundle of Quilting Material by
R. E. Wicker
Hi! I really thought the blitze of materials had ended until this
morning when I received another lovely piece of material very suitable
for my patriotic themed quilt I am in the midst of planning out and
cutting. This time the bundle was from Toni from Indiana. I looked
up on the map to see if...

Block sizes by
The Laws
I was digging out all my left over extra blocks for hugs and such. Most
hug blocks asked for are usually 6 1/2 or 12 1/2. I found most of mine
are 8 or 10 inches. While I think we tend to prefer specific colors, do
quilters also tend to pick specific sizes? My log cabins are 10. The...

OT It's freezing! by
melinda
Who opened the freezer door!
I don't think it got over about 15degC today, with a wind chil that
dropped the temp about 4degC. Barrington Tops near here have had a
dumping of snow, 65cm so far most of it fell yesterday. The forecast
is for more of the same for at least another day or so. It's...

Quilt Finished - "Dancing Lights in Indigo Night" - Pix by
Bronnie
After 5 weeks hard work, anguish, ups and downs, I have finished my
latest quilt project.
It is a wall hanging 52x52 inches.
Inspired by a pattern in EQ5 and the twinkling city lights at night
viewed from my home.
I set myself a lot of challenges with this quilt, some met, some not,
and have lived...

3rd speech by
Brian Christiansen
My first speech in my "what a quilter needs" series was about needing an
idea and some possible soures for these ideas, my second was about tools (or
"hardware"), though I think I tried to put way too much in the speech. My
third will be about consumables (or "software"), such as material, etc....

Fat Quarters by

Yesterday I completed my jury duty (that was interesting!!) and
celebrated by walking over to the LQS that was in the midst of the
Western Washington Shop Hop to at least pick up my one square (which
I'm going to add to last year's 16 blocks I haven't even started
sewing). While there I got some...

Buying Fabric Saves Money! by
dogmom
Went to Wal-Mart today and had to look at their cloth (car won't start
unless I've done that.) Found a cute frog print; appears to be decent
quality and certainly a decent price ($2/yard.) Bought 1/2 yard because I've
been thinkin' of making a frog cabin for a really dear friend, and now that
