To my online Friends by

MY ONLINE FRIENDS
Maybe you don't look me right in the eye...
Maybe you can't ever wipe my tears when I cry;
Maybe we can't share some tea and honey... so sweet;
Or walk together down a path... or up the street.
But, we can still be good friends because, you see...
We met on the internet, you and...

Knitting tubes - tools? by
Dorthe Hedehus
Hi
I have a project going on knitting tubes (4 stiches) to make my own TUBU
yarns with special effects. It is a very tiring job to do by hand, and I
have heard of half-automatic tools for that. I know that they in danish is
called "strikkemølle" and in german "Strick Mühle", but I don't know...

Yay for blankets by
AlenasMom
I'm glad that I can still crochet while I'm sick. (I have bronchitis
again...)
I'm working on a really simple blanket.
It's in a burnt umber color of really old yarn. I'm doing this pattern
dc, ch 1 skip on ch, repeat.
I'm not sure if I'll add a ruffle or not...

planning a sweater by using ready made pattern by
Mirjam Bruck-Cohen
As this question comes up quite often, i thought i could share , with
those of you who are interested , my inner debate about a pattern i
like in a magazine.
In Knitter`s k72, fall 2003 , page 80 there is a sweater that took my
fancy it is called RoundTrip . it surely reminded of another sweater...

Hi everyone,
I just wanted you to know that Pirjo's squares aren't homeless. They will be
made into something lovely and I've told her that. We will be carrying on with
our joint projects that she is making squares and I'm doing the finishing.

confused by pattern by
blair
I just bought a pattern book and I am confused by the term work over.
The beginning says ch 164 with with green, then drop green, and ch 2
with pink. Does this mean that you join the pink with a slip stitch
to the last green chain? I've never ran across this so I'm a little
confused.

SSK clarification.... by
Noreen's Knit*che
Not just for newbies, some patterns don't clarify the instruction SSK...
and I thought it might be a good idea to do so:
SSK is *not* slip, slip, knit (even though that *might* be your first
"guess")
SSK *is* :
slip next 2 sts from left needle to right needle, one at a time as if to
knit. Insert...

Sock (really knitting!) newbie question by
Jean Early
Hello all! I just learned to knit about a month ago, and I'm finishing
up a sock... it's really kinda sad looking, but it's a first attempt
and I gotta learn, right?? :)
Anyway, I've purchased some sock books, and most of them only show the
pattern in one size (e.g., "ladies large", "men's...

LaceKnitting query by
Noreen's Knit*che
What are the biggest or largest size needles you've used with lace-weight
yarn and still achieved a nice effect?
I'm using US#2's on my Cobweb Lace Shawl... but I've used US#4's and 5's on
other lace patterns....

Using Homespun question by
Denise
Hi everyone!
I'm still working on this lapghan and had some questions about using
Homespun.
If the unused thread bunches down, does that mean I'm knitting too tight?
Do you usually keep pulling the bunched up yarn toward the ball as you work?
Do I need to try to keep it from happening altogether,...
