A new FO and some pics by
Laurie
I'm doing a little tap dance here. I just finished my first pair of
socks. I did them on circs both at the same time. It so appeals to
my lazy nature. But I love how they turned out. They look great,
they fit absolutely perfect and that just doesn't happen often on a
maiden voyage. :-)
I...

A little bit of spring by
Shillelagh
I have posted some new pictures in my album - they are of the garden of a
friend of mine, plus a few pictures from mine. They are of flowers and
green things - maybe they will cheer you up (smile).

what kind of knitting? by
Maine-iac Rose
ok, that Norwegian purl looks good, I will be practicing it, but have
another question.
back in high school, there was this girl that did some knitting where she
didn't take her hands off the needles at all, and for a right handed person,
the yarn to be knitted was held in the left hand. I kind...

Newbie ~ already addicted!! by
Angie Nappi
Hi everyone!!
I found this ng a few weeks ago, about the same time that my friend and I
decided to take a knitting class. So I was reading throught the posts and
getting quite excited about yarn, needles, patterns, etc. Due to the weather
not cooperating, we finally took the class last Monday nite...

Darn it! by
spampot
....not literally, of course. I'm just peeved. Today's local newspaper,
the Baltimore Sun, has a big article (front page of the Home & Family
section) on the resurgence of knitting among young people, and the
on-line version isn't available (the site still shows last Sunday's
page) so I can't...

The good: the plan was that *today* I'd get photo's up on my new

Stash relocation by
Artchick
Well, what else would you call it? It's reducing my stash of spinnable fiber
and expanding my stash of yarns. Anyway, I've been playing with basic dye
work, and I'm using Kool-Aid, mainly because I'm not very likely to poison
my toddler, should he get into anything (he's *very* interested in my...

Long time, no talk by
Laura
Hi, everyone.
It's the San Diego knitting horselady.
Sorry I haven't been in touch recently. Part of it is because I'm
really busy. I also don't have a regular news server anymore so I
have to use Google. I have nothing against Google but it takes far
too long for your post to come up.
Well,...

Neps-R-Us by
Slinky
Well, caveat emptor always prevails, right? Last fall (2003) I bought
a Corriedale fleece at the local fiber fair where I was vending. It
came off of a sheep that had, until about 2 months prior, been part of
a flock owned by a well-regarded Texas shepherdess. She sold the
entire flock and moved...

KIP hijinks by
Slinky
Well, I started a sock today in the car as we pulled out of the
driveway to do our usual errands (and please, nobody ask why, when
neither my husband or myself work, we wait until Saturday to do our
errands). Finished the cuff, turned the heel, decided I'd better let
it ride until I got...

Crochet border by
bibe
Let's say I have a knitted square, and I want to make a single crochet
border around it. How do I make the corner stay a square shape, and not so
rounded? Does that make sense?
I have seen some instructions such as this: "working 3 sc in the center st
of each corner". What does that mean? Would...

FO January by

I can finally post an FO!
I have finally finished a sweater for my granddaughter that I actually
finished in December, and then totally frogged because the sleeve increases
were bad. The sweater is finished (yay!) and now I can mail it to her.
She'll actually get to wear it this winter. Picture...

My thoughts about the 6 x 6 exchange by
Noreen's Knit*che
I think every effort should be made to accomodate your partner if they have
specific colour requests.... if you ask for... oh say grey, and get purple,
it mucks up your entire plan.
I have to honestly say that two of my four partners were RIGHT ON with my
colour requests. One was way off, but I...

Macrame lamp/plant holder. by
Mel Darke
Several years ago I made a macrame plant holder that held a reed dish
approx. 18'' (46cm) in diameter and which also had a lampshade in the
top in which I was able to use a grow light. Unfortunately I no
longer have the pattern. Has anyone got one they may send me?
Many thanks.
