metric? by
Morag in Oxford
Hi all,
I get really confused when I look at a lot of US based quilting sites as
everything is measured in feet and inches.
At school we were taught in metric only - although here in the Uk we still
talk of distances in miles and weight in pounds. All shops sell by the
metre (not the yard) and...

thanks for the kind welcome by
wendy
Thank you everybody for the kind welcome notes ! I tell my mother that you
liked her hexagonquilt, she'll love that !
I surfed to a few photoalbums and you too make great quilts ! I remember a
''kaleidoscope monster'', a rose sampler and a tulipquilt, all the quilts I
saw were beautiful !

Sewing machine suugestions for outdoor gear by
[email protected]
Hi All!!
I'm an outdoor enthusiast interested in sewing some of my own gear.
Most gear mfgs are over engineering their goods in order to add more
features to charge more $$$s, so I think I can sew my own with quality
materials at a fraction of the cost.
I plan on sewing a sleeping bag/quilt...

A question by
ann
From the group rec.crafts.textiles.needlework in the MD/VA/DC are has
sprung a monthly meeting where we get together and stitch and eat and
talk and generally have a great time. I was wondering if there were
any groups like that with quilters (other than guilds that is)
consisting of folks from...

I got this from the university tech site and I thought a few people
here could be interested; in fact didn't we discuss Fibronacci's series
a while ago?

SOS!! Help! Need SETTING by
SNIGDIBBLY
SUGGESTIONS!! See deck of cards block in my Snigs Album. It's my next UFO

set them together. I'm tired tonight and my brain is just mush or grits or
something equally thick and bland. See pix #1 in my Snigs webshot...

Finished a Hug by
Betsy Ross
To all who still have me in mind and to Snigdibbly whose blocks arrived
today, I had enough blocks to complete this hug with Wednesday's mail. I
stayed up until one this morning putting all the blocks together. I am
emailing a photo to Teri right now.
Thanks to all who sent blocks. As this was...

Looking for a certain sewing machine..... by
Gregg
I am looking for a sewing machine for my wife's grace quilter. I am looking
for one with a deep throat like 7 to 8 inches on it. But I can not afford
300.00 for a machine. Does anyone know of any less expensive machines that
have a deep throat on it?

Thanks,

The Inner Quilt by
Joan
I had to do something while I was waiting for the extra yards of fabric I
needed to finish my last quilt, and during that time I started a new
quilt. When I finished the last quilt, I went back to this one. As usual,
I had to get in the right mood. I had to get into the quilt, into knowing

Panda bear wall hanging done! by
Joanna
Just finished this one of panda bears. I am donating to the long term
care where I work as the main walls are pretty sparse. The pics were
taken before washing so it has lots of lint and thread and hasn't been
pressed but I'm still happy with it. I did machine quilt this one as the
girls were...

We will (fingers crossed) be moving at the end of the summer. In the new

OT- update to drama by
georg
My sister-in-law lost the baby.
Not sure if there is anything I can do other than offer sympathy.
Probably not. Hrm. I wonder if mum can help me find a spa/masseuse in
the area that will do a gift cert for her? Or if I should just "write a
coupon" for babysitting service.
