I WAS WONDERING... by
LindaLee
Is there a way we can make new posts pop such as the subject line in
caps to make it pop against all the spam that's found it's way into
this group?

rowan pattern? by
expectorant
Hello Everyone
I am new on this newsgroup so I aplogize if I am not following proper
n.group etiquette. I am looking at starting my first sweater. I
visited a knit store and saw a pattern in a Rown magazine "Denim
People". I feel in love with one sweater but I don't want to buy the
book for one...

Knitting needle size, US V MM? by
[email protected]
I bought a knitting needle guide from "Boye" and it has measurements in
US needle size and mm sizes.
The mm sizes are listed as 2, 2/1/4, 2/3/4.. and one my questions are,
how come they list a mm as a fraction?
It seems to me that the mm would be 2, 2.25, 2.75 etc.

Socks by
Juno B
Hi all,
I'm back to tell you that my friend came over on Monday and got me
started on 4 needle socks. She had taken me shopping for new yarn and
larger needles first. Once she showed me how to get going, everything
fell into place. She said she thought the woman in the yarn shop steered
me wrong...

Extra 6x6 by

Well some of you have expressed a wish to do more than two squares a month.
I have no control over what you do personally.
However, please bear it in mind that some of our members of this group,
lead extremely busy lives and cannot for one reason or another get theirs
done this fast.
Also if you...

Knitting in pub picture by
Laurie
On one of the gazillion knitting sites I have visited in the last few
months, there is a great picture of a couple old grizzled men in a pub
and one is knitting. More than anything I want a large print of that
picture. I'm sure I bookmarked that site but I have ended up
bookmarking practically...

Introduction (Was Q? about kittens & cats sneezing) by
Carey N.
Thank you all for the welcome. I have been looking in for a couple of
months, and couldn't keep quiet when I saw Stella's question about sneezing
cats. I also notice that when the vet says to give antibiotics for 10
days, kitty colds seem to run longer than that.
My neighbor has several cats...

Top-down, seamless, set-in sleeves, in the round sweaters? by
Randall Nortman
Thanks to all for your advice about sock yarns. I have ordered some
Brown Sheep Wildfoote (75% superwash wool, 25% nylon) on eBay along
with some size 1 double-points, which should arrive next week. I'm
excited to get started!
But sock excitement aside, I'm already beginning planning for my...

New RCTY group starting by

Hello everyone, I have MSN and hot mail and find them excellent - lots of
spam which they throw into bulk mail and delete each week , so I do not
actually have to look at it. I have a yahoo account and use it purely as
an account to send greeting cards. because they have a better choice.

Things I've learned... by
Slinky
General lessons: Check your gauge often and at many locations on the
work. When I was doing the pattern overhaul I failed to account for
the fact that a stranded fabric made with sport-weight yarn would be
thicker than if I used worsted-weight and made an unstranded fabric.
Fortunately my gauge...

Jennifer Lopez poncho in Monster in Law by
internetchick
It's very light and feminine. I want to make one for myself, looks like
two rectangles sewn togther. Either rows of dc, or ch1 ski dc. Might
have been done with a hook as big as a Q. I saw some yarn by Red Heart,
Symphony, that looks very similar. Paton's makes a yarn too, Divine,
that I think...

Knitting tubes - tools? by
Dorthe Hedehus
Hi
I have a project going on knitting tubes (4 stiches) to make my own TUBU
yarns with special effects. It is a very tiring job to do by hand, and I
have heard of half-automatic tools for that. I know that they in danish is
called "strikkemølle" and in german "Strick Mühle", but I don't know...

I just wanted to say how truly impressed I am with this group!

Makes me want to go buy some wool and give it a whirl! The only problem
is that it's the stitching that makes them really impressive! I...
