TW Designworks Going Out of Business! by
Jinx Minx[_3_]
I just went to TW's website to get some information on a pattern I'm hoping
to start today (Miniature Autumn Sampler), and her homepage says she's going
out of business! I'm completely saddened by this as she's been my favorite
designer for years and years. No other designer has even remotely...

Well - I'm about an hour away from finishing by
Cheryl Isaak
A Bouquet for Cheryl....
I'd have finished last night, but between listening to Tim McCarver and
listening to DH complain about Tim McCarver, I had to go to bed.
I'd have a chance of finishing during the day today, but DD is home sick and
I'm not likely to get any daytime stitching time. So...

OT - Hooray - cast is off by
MargW
Headed out this morning to get my cast removed. Surgeon gave me a
referral for physio to start next week. Hand looks fairly good although
the fingers are still quite stiff (no surprise there). (Lots of scaly,
flaky skin - perfect for Halloween) Doc told me to be careful since the
hand is...

Button Question by
Janet[_3_]
A friend of mine recently gave me some vintage buttons from her mother-
in-law. I would like to use them on a sampler. Does anyone know of a
saying about buttons I could use? I did a google search and just got
sayings written on current buttons. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

100 Most Beautiful Words in the English Language by

I admit, I lifted this from another site, but considering how many
word-aholics we have here, thought it might make an interesting topic

cards for needlework located by
Martha Sykora
Thank you so much to everyone who gave me suggestions for sources for
tri-fold "aperture" cards for needlework. I ordered just what I wanted from
www.sewandso.co.uk and they arrived within a week. Then surprisingly enough
the original ones I ordered from my neighboring state arrived too, 3...

My Favorite Needle by
Bev72
Has any one any idea if "My Favorite Needle" is available. I know the
company went out of business but there may be some lying around in a shop
somewhere. I would appreciate any information out there.

So instead of what are you working on by
Donna D.
I always work on the same project since it takes me years and I have 3 I
work on. Now Woodland Enchantress. Which I started last year. It seems
every New Years I buy a new project.
Which way do you stitch? I start left to right then I follow a thread color
and go up down and all around. So no...

Master craftsman programs by
Fran
Well, wish me luck - I finally decided to try for the Master Craftsman
in Silk and Metal Embroidery. There were several terms mentioned I
did not recognize, so we'll see how it goes. Luckily I have plenty of
time to get each submission in. It looks to be a good challenge, so
I'm looking forward...

You done good Tia Mary by
Dawne Peterson
I noticed this morning there were more new posts--actual readable
interesting posts and not the idiotic spambot stuff--than there have been
for a while. All because Tia Mary took it upon herself to post a good topic
to get us all started talking. True, we have wandered a bit from needlework...

Another needlework topic: What are you stitching TODAY? by
Susan Hartman
Tonight I'm planning to spend an hour assembling a felt banner for
church (not stitching, technically, but cutting and gluing, though I'll
have to run a seam on the machine for a casing for the hanger.)
Then I'm working on an afghan for a Christmas present and some ornaments
from Emie Bishop....

County Fair results by
Fran
Well, I took two of my pieces into the regional fair - The Dixie
Classic - and one of them got first prize!
I got 1st Prize in the Embroidery division with my piece showing gold
leaves on a black background ("Evening Enchanment" in Fran's Stuff on
RCTNP). I also showed the Waste Canvas...

Well ouch is what I meant to say, some how a few other colorful words filled
the air.
The nerves in my left thumb have started to settle down so that I can grasp
something between my thumb and index digit without going into orbit and then
yesterday.....
I picked up a fairly long board that had a...

Needlework Tips by
Tia Mary
It's been a long time since I remember having a round of postings
dealing with different needlework tips & hints. Since things seem to be
so slow, I thought this might be a good topic, especially for any
newbies out there or those of us who just forget stuff. I'll go first
since seeing the...

Advice please - on topic by
Cheryl Isaak
Ok - I've finally had to make the switch to readers and distance to correct
my vision enough to stitch, read and drive.
Love the distance - I can do 80% of my normal daily stuff with them, even
the computer if I up the font size a few points
Reading is a dream and stitching is getting better....
