Mom (GeeGee) just called me a few moments ago...her comfortaghan from 'us'
arrived late this afternoon, and just in time for Christmas!
Now, she rattled off the names of all who contributed, and you all know who
you are, so rather than name each, I'm doing this 'collectively, as...

Help! How to hem crochet? by
learning to crochet
Hi,
I am crocheting a teacosy. The pattern says:
Fold top of work to inside to form a 3/4" hem. With 1 strand each of dark
and light make a chain of 30cm. (12 inches). Thread through top that was
folded over and tie into bow.
Questions:
Hem: Do I sew down the hem like a regular hem?

Knitterbugs
Hi everyone;
I've never made socks before, but I want to give it a try. Most of the sock
patterns on the web call for sport weight yarn. Can someone tell me the
difference between sport weight and sock yarn? I'm thinking the sport weight
might be thicker, but I'm just guessing. I was think of...

knitting journal by
Agres
The most important fact to record in your knitting journal is where the
object is hidden while waiting to be wraped and tagged for Christmass. I
simply did not remember knitting that pair of socks, but I seemed to be
short 2 skeins of yarn. Yep, there was another pair of fuzzy pink socks at
the...

I have been so happy when you have accepted me into this Operation

Problem: Chenille is knitting up on the bias by
Vivien
Please help. I am a novice knitter that has acquired a cotton chenille
yarn which is ribbon/tape-like, that knits up biased and gets much
worse after washing. Should I:
1. abandon current pattern and knit a plain yoke sweater that spirals
upward.
2. attempt to "treat" the yarn by wetting and...

Ot a request to UK people by
Elizabeth
Hi Mirjam
BT directory enquiries has a web based service where you can look up the
number, perhaps with more details like address, etc, you will be able to
find it - so long as it's not ex-directory. I did try, but the service was
too busy and they asked me to try again...
