Thanks to Diana's rather strong suggestion, Lisa Caryl contacted me when she and her DH were about to arrive in my area. G They were only here for a few days, and I was busy with seasonal stuff for a couple of those, but we managed to clear our calendars for yesterday morning and met at a LQS not...

Need a good deed to do? by Marcella Peek
A few years back the soldiers under my brother in law were in Bosnia over Christmas. To keep them busy and distracted from being homesick, they were sent to visit an orphanage. My sister asked me to ask you all to send quilts so the soldiers had something to give the children. Many of you...

Super easy lap quilor baby qulit by She in PA
NO MEASURING OR PINNING. You need flannel and polar fleece. The flannel will be narrower then the polar fleece. Cut your flannel to the size you want the quilt. Make sure you square it up. Lay your flannel on top of your polar fleece and cut it around 2" bigger then you fleece. Take your fleece...

OT - males and star wars by frood
Miss Fussy Rose was telling us at dinner about 2 of her male classmates who had been discussing Star Wars during recess. (MFR is quite enamored of one of the boys - he is a frequent topic of conversation) DH countered with... "I was just thinking about SW this morning...." which got me...

Castle in the Air by NightMist

Fabric Covered Glass Plates by Pauline
Okay - it's borderline off topic . . . I bought one of these at a Xmas boutique the other day & they seem like they'd be pretty easy to make. I know there is a quilt shop quite a distance from me that offers a class, but it's a bit of a drive. Does anyone know how to make these? It seems like it...

sewing machine advice by Denise in NH
I got my Janome 6500 last year for about $1,000 and I love it. It has the larger harp area, needle down, knee lift, self threading, acrylic table, etc. It has some decorative stitches that I'm finally getting to use since I have a new baby niece in town. I've never regretted buying it. Denise
