OT from Polly's preacher by Polly Esther
This is long - and from our pastor who lived through Katrina in his fishing boat. He lost everything he owned and his dog drowned. This dear man leads by example and I wanted you to see the lead-in to Sunday's sermon. *** A football player decided he wanted to be a wrestler. The coach said he...

which batting??? by Roberta Zollner
My advice is probably useless since we want very different end results! I use mostly Hobbs Heirloom, and failing that, some other cotton batt. The results after washing: soft and drape-y. Cotton batts are designed to shrink a little bit and make the surface crinkle up, and IMO they look best...

signing your posts... :-) by Kate G.
I really appreciate it when people sign their posts with their city or state or country. It is hard getting to know people here -- and for me it helps to keep them "pegged" on the map! Eventually even my brain can begin to keep people straight! Kate in MI

Magic Christmas Stocking to make by She in PA
Some lady at our guild showed us this. You layer all your fabric and batting , cut with a rotary cutter and sew around. Then you turn it twice and you have it done except for putting on the cuff. It is all in how you lay the layers. Here it is. You could make them Christmas Eve if you needed...

table runner happy dance by Irrational Number
I finished the table runner top. I need to baste and quilt. It's 22" x 57". Red and beige squares on point. Lessons I have learned: (1) I LOVE hand piecing. This is the third top I've hand pieced and I'm getting faster and my points are sharp. (2) I LOVE cotton batting. So soft and
