animal sound buttons by Mary
Hi group. Does anyone know where I can find those buttons that have animal sounds? I am not sure if they are considered buttons or boxes. I thought they came in buttons but I may be mistaken. Anyone know where I can find a good selection? Thanks. Mary www.glasscrochet.com

Lighting recommendation? by S & A
Can anyone recommend a good light and bulb that will make stitching in the evenings easier. I used to use an anglepoise light with a 'blue' daylight bulb. I did find though that the bulb caused a yellowy shadow on my material. In the daytime, my bedroom is the best place to stitch as it has a...

Is it time for ..... by Cheryl Isaak
Drum roll please What are you stitching? I'm stuck on letter I for the baby dragon alphabet. So, I'm making great progress toward finishing Cheryl's Bouquet. I've told myself when I finish with the "bottom right" page, it's back to the alphabet.

Quoting from Needle Arts June 2007 pg 21: "....you may not stitch multiple pieces from one instruction booklet unless specifically permitted by the copyright owner" Is this a true fact? Are instructions in stitching magazines usually copyrighted?

First, a close to done the stitching part is the snowflake SAL running on my NE-xstitchers group (on Yahoo! this in an inherited job and all New England Area stitchers are welcome) Then, I want to get more done on the Baby Dragon project. Then, I think I'm going to grab a chart I kitted up a...

Happy Dance by Sampler45
I put the last stitches into Just Nan's "Silkwood Manor" during my vacation last week. It is really beautiful. I can't wait until she publishes her next sampler in the series. I'm now going to start Moira Blackburn's "Three Things" sampler. I've been wanting to do this for some time and have...

OFF TOPIC - post ice storm book review by Cheryl Isaak
The ice storm started Monday and included multiple power outages, one drive to the rink (DS's team won, but it was an ugly victory), a delayed start to school and several meals out. Luckily, the library had power and I had reserves to pick up. Under Orders (Dick Francis) - not really his finest,...

OT - replacing a kitchen range by Dianne Lewandowski
I know that the ultimate decision is based on budget. But my oven died and one of my burners died earlier this year. My range is 13 years old, so I'm not going to get it fixed. So, I have to go this week end and buy a new range. Has anyone purchased one that they said, "Never again!" Does...

stash knowledge by anne
Although I've got a lot of stuff, it is nowhere near what long term stitchers have accumulated. Yesterday, I wanted to experiment with angelina fibers and couldn't find them. I emptied almost all the drawers and they were still hiding. Imagine my surprise when I turned around and saw them on the...

Bead storage by Joan Robertson
I have a question for you all. I now use what I think is called a "Bead Hive" It is plastic see thru drawers that go into holders which slide together. They are rectangular shaped. Anyway a couple times when I have vacuumed the dresser where I keep the beads, I have sucked out a drawer with...

Japanese Hand Embroidery by Maureen Miller
Please excuse me if this is a repeat post but a recent virus (now deleted) wiped out everything so if my message was indeed posted, I did not see the reply. I want to learn Japanese Hand Embroidery. There is no teacher locally, nor classes at local institutes. But there are MANY books out there...

OT- Home Appliance Happy Dance by Ellice
Okay, I just have to share this -even if it's ridiculous and I never, ever in my life thought I'd have a conversation about a Vacuum Cleaner. Several months back there was some talk about vacuums, pet hair, etc. Anyhow, we've had a lot of problems with our "good" hoover just not working, getting...
