OT - MIL stories by
anne
The rant about the MIL from he** started me down memory lane because mine was a
piece of work too. For quite some time, we supplemented her small income and
she used some of the money to buy us cheap clothes and junk for which we were
supposed to be eternally grateful. She insisted on bi-weekly...

About Aida thing and yarn by
Pirjo Ilvesvuori
Hi ladies and gents!
Have not been here for a while. Must ask anyway...you may know. I
have...this cushion thing to stitch. It is Aida, and pre-printed. What's the
worry then, you ask. Well, I let you know. I do not know...the gauge, as
we'd say it in RCTY. And that brings me another worry. What...

burlap cross-stitch samplers by
Lorie
Does anyone remember the yarn on burlap samplers we did in elementary
school?
As I recall it had cross stitches, chain stitch, back stitches. Also,
I think it included a row of the alphabet, row of numbers and our
names. My 6 year old daughter is expressing an interest in sewing and
I was thinking...

Using half stitches in place of full stitches by
deniseb
I believe I read in the Nordic Needle newsletter some time ago that
using half stitches instead of full cross stitches will make a project
go faster. No kidding. But, to get the same coverage -- would you use 3
strands of floss for the half stitches if you would have used 2 for the
full stitches?...

Back Stitching "Rules" by
Tia Mary-remove nekoluvr to reply
Hi Guys,
There is a thread going on over at the AOL needlework board about
backstitching. The question about what the "rule" is came up so I thought I
would ask here as I know we have a number of people who are certified to do
judging. When a piece is entered in competition is it the rule that...
