A Knitting Question: Guage by
Dianne Lewandowski
I know about guage, and 90% of the time, I knit right on target to
specifications.
My question is: I'm knitting this new sweater and the entire thing is
nothing but wide cables - one after another across a row.
If I pat out a guage swatch (no, I didn't make one, but that will make
everyone here...

New reading by

Found two "new to me" authors to share
The Unquiet Bones by Melvin Starr

Really like Hugh - He's gentle and sort of innocent despite being a surgeon
in medieval England....

Alphabetizing Designer names by
Cheryl Isaak
Ok - don't ask, but for some reason I've decided to alphabetize my charts.
(must be the rain!)
So, does one file Liz Turner Diehl under T or under D?
Lizzie Kate? K? L?
Or the one that really has me fuzzled - what order does Artful Impressions,
Art-Stitch and ArtVenture go in?

Are we missing anything? by
Felice Friese
Of the 634 posts on rctn this evening, 440 of them included "Banned from the
Garden" in their subject line.
How many readers are missing interesting threads because they won't read the
"Banned" thread or have killfiled that phrase? I sure as heck won't wade
through 440 "Banned" posts to find out...

How do you store your floss? by
Amber[_2_]
Hello this is Amber again and I am pleased to announce that I have
received several boxes of magazines, charts, kits and other treasures
including floss. That brings me to the subject of this post. Since I
am starting out new I am wondering how do you keep your floss. When I
still had my stash I...

OT-Rant and Rave by
Lucille[_3_]
You really want to know what I do for exercise. Well, I'll tell you.
This evening I got my exercise by ranting and raving and throwing myself
around because my disposer just dropped dead. Of course, there was a sink
full of salad stuff, all of which I had to pick up in my dainty little hands...

Embroidering & Embellishing by
[email protected]
Hi Fellow Stitchers,
I'm so pleased to say I've made my very first doll.....a simple one for
the moment......have absolutely NO room to lay out my wonderful Pfaff
or Singer sewing machines in order to sew.....so the next best thing
was do it all by hand.
I took a short cut by painting a face on...

I've been browsing - saw more this time to like than the last.
However, I am stuck on the Funk & Weber puzzle - anyone want to help?
two syllable words that rhyme to answer the clues:
Example: Scary streaks in the sky - Frightening Lightning
I am stuck on:

Too funny! by
Joan Erickson
Had to share this with people "in the know"!
On Craig's list there was a post for embroidery thread for sale (this
was amazing just for the fact DH showed it to me, when he's always
saying I don't need more stitching stuff!). Anyway, it was a good deal:
$20 for 120 skeins of floss (some...

Cross stitch and silk ribbon by
Dianne Lewandowski
Have any of you worked any cross stitch patterns that include silk
ribbon embroidery? I used to see a few pieces out there but haven't
heard of any in quite awhile. I designed a piece about 8 years ago,
including beading. Mirjam commenting on cross stitch made me scratch my
memory for all the...

To Call or Not to Call by
Susie Jordan
Yesterday we all learned that District Judge Lee R. West, of Oklahoma,
had ruled the DO NOT CALL list was illegal. Bummer! I thought to
myself that perhaps I would just call Judge West every time I received
an unwanted call. Then I thought maybe all of us should do just that.
Yesterday evening...

I am asking the help of any rctners who use picture to pattern

One strand or two by
anne
I'm in the design phase of an embellished tote bag. Right now, the plan is to
use buttons with seed beads strung between the holes. Because I don't usually
take the time to go through the beads twice, I'm wondering if two strands of
sewing thread would overcome this flaw. If I take the time to go...

sara moon cross stitching patterns by
Banjo Bob
Does anyone know where to find a free sara moon cross stitching pattern
called "Lady with Lilac Flower" ? After a long time out of it, my
girlfriend has started cross stiching again, but lost the pattern she used
to own. As it is quite expensive, and I am quite poor, I thought I'd ask if...
