mirrors is prone to produce astigmatism, whereas hand grinding lenses
and mirrors tends to randomize errors and thereby avoid...

Uranium glass by
Andy Dingley
I make furniture in wood and metal. Never worked glass before.
There's a technique I'm keen to try which involves insetting "jewels"
of glass into forged ironwork. You work the iron, hot-punch a hole
into it maybe 1/2" across then fill it with a rough piece of scrap
glass. Some work with an...

120 Year old Glass by
Cape Bretoner
Am wondering if anyone can direct me to a collector or antique dealer
that might be interested in purchasing 120 year old planes of glass.
They are 8 X 10 inches and about 1/16 of an inch thick.
Clear glass, although they had some kind of shipping material between
them that gives it a colored...

foil much better.
The start and finish of a project is the most fun for me, and I'm looking to
find a way to hasten some of the more artisian...

Is this the right group for enamelling, cloisonne and ginbari discussion? by
Cactus Jammies
A novice, looking at buying a kiln, and was originally wondering if I
can use a form of this enamelling as abalone shell replacement (not
substitute) for musical instrument decoration. But now having read
Karen Cohen's book, I see what a wonderful process enameling can be.
Is this the right group...

a thing as a standard for size, shape or arrangement of equipment, etc.?
My wife has been doing stained glass off and on for a number of years. I
being a woodworker have been more then happy to make benches for her to...
