Praying for the health of strangers who have undergone heart surgery has
no effect, according to the largest scienfic study ever commissioned to
calculate the healing power of prayer.
In fact, patients who know they are being prayed for suffer a noticeably

I've been Apple Buttered! by
Cats
Just popping in briefly to say I received a gorgeous packet
from BackForty - compliments of a kind squisher (thanked
privately). I can see why everyone loves this stuff. It's
beautiful!
I can see some applique visions realising soon - maybe
pansies!

Happy Dancing by
Julia in MN
I just finished a lap quilt top using fabric I had tie-dyed myself.
Every summer we go to family camp at a Bible camp in Wisconsin; every
year tie-dye is one of the most popular crafts. Last summer I took along
2 yards of white cotton fabric to dye. I used the dyed fabric in a
Minnesota Hot Dish...

Batiks Plus rocks! NAYY by
Donna973
I like to hear about good shops from which to order on-line, so I thought
I'd give some kudos to Batiks Plus (www.batiksplus.com). Just one order,
but I'll definitely check there again, especially if I'm looking for a
specific Hoffman batik. I was doing exactly that on Sunday afternoon. They
are...

stack n slash quilt picture by
Trixie
A few weeks back I asked for sizing help to make stack n slash blocks. I
ended up using 20 inch blocks, cut down to 14.5 inch for the final block
size. Twenty inches was way too large, as I only did six cuts, but I made
use of the extra by putting it in as part of the backing. My niece...

Thinking out loud by
KJ
I can't decide what to do....
I've been approached by the art coordinator of the new hotel/conference
center being built here in town about making a quilt for the hotel. She had
a difficult time convincing the hotel powers that be to include quilts in
their artwork plans. They could only imagine...

Going out of business by
Batik Freak
Hey y'all, NAYY up front. The Albany Quilt Shop in Albany LA is going out
of business 4/29. Their sale started last week and is ongoing until the
last thread is sold or the 29th, whichever comes first. The owner's
daughter says they have tons of batiks too (like 300+ yards!) and everything

Must see quilts! by
Dannielle
I was cruising Marcia's site and saw the Alzheimer's quilt link on the
pattern page. Seeing as how my family is dealing with my grandmother,
whom we have "lost" to Alzheimer's (no more lucid moments in her
future...she just looks right through everyone now) I decided to take a
peek....
And I...

OT Happy Dance by
KJ
DS told me today he got a grad school acceptance for SUNY Albany in Art!
This is the kid I had to drag to school in his younger days. He dropped out
of college for a while to figure out what his calling was. I guess he's
found it.
Anybody here live in Albany? Finding housing, etc from this...

A while ago someone mentioned seeing a Gordian Knot quilt or book. I
took a class today at my LQS and the class was based on Mary Whitehead's
