Question for machines collectors by
Bonnie NJ
I'm thinking of getting another sewing machine (surprise, surprise). My
question is this: if you had your choice between purchasing a 401 or a new
machine with the multiple stitches which would you choose. I need a zig zag
capable machine and don't have the money for a new top of the line...

Sock Monkeys win prize by
Denise in NH
Last night my guild had a pajama party with prizes given in various
categories. I wore my Sock Monkey pajamas and slippers, wore a tiny
sock monkey in my hair, and carried two of my monkeys. One of the
monkeys was the one I recently got from Ebay. I won for most creative.
I won three fat...

New acquisition: 1966 Touch-&-Sew! by
Debi
She's come to live with me! I'm hoping I can get her fixed up and running.
The lady who Freecycled her to me said she ran over a pin recently and now
it acts as if something is 'catching' inside. David's pretty handy with
mechanical things so I'm hoping he can fix her for me. I got a little box...

Retreat weekend coming up! by
extremevalues
I am going on a weekend retreat this weekend with the ladies in my
church group. I am very excited since I haven't been on a quilty
trip/retreat in over four years. The last time I made it to IQF in
Houston was 4 years ago, and the last quilting retreat I went on was
probably two or three years...

United in Memory Quilt by
Idahoqltr
I participated in this project way back when and never found my block
when I looked for it. The person heading up the project died and the
project got stalled. Yesterday I was looking at "fire quilts" and ran
across this site. It is very well done. My block is the second one on
the 33rd page,...

Log Cabin Blues by
Tricia
Susan,
Cheryl in Oz posted information in the last 6 months about a strip
piecing method for doing log cabins. Strip piecing is usually supposed
to be faster than doing the blocks individually. Maybe it will come up
with Google or maybe she'll see this and re-post....
As for how to proceed --...

OT Dill Dip Recipe Wanted by
Patti S
Hi Jan
My dill dip recipe calls for grated green onion (just the white parts -
a tablespoon or more to suit your taste) and just a smidge of celery
salt.

Thimbleberries 2006 by
Christina Doucette
Hi Gals,
I just signed up for the Thimbleberries Club 2006 to make the Vintage
Stitches quilt. I can't wait to start. I posted the link to my LQS (NAYY)
so you can see the quilt top...and it's pieced on BOTH sides, so I think I
might make 2 quilts instead of one. Here is the link (scoll down...

Ping: Butterfly by
Debra
I tried to e-mail you several times but it keeps bouncing back to me
no matter how I try to unmunge your e-mail addy.
Thank you for the squishie! It is the perfect color for an applique
heart or fall leaf or perhaps even a butterfly. The card was
beautiful too. It did bring a smile to my face. ...

Tina? Were you starting a BOM? by
joysjane
Tina, was it you that was going to do a BOM where you send each person on
the list a certain size of the same fabric and everyone sends back to you a
block using some of that fabric? Am I describing this correctly enough that
someone will know what I am talking about?
I can't remember who or what...

Trimmings by
quilter
So, LN...for those of us who might be contemplating squishies to thank
you for your work on the directory, or for just the curious, what does
"Trimmings" mean for your yum colors? Small scraps? How small? (I am
amassing a little bag of batik scraps over here from my current
project).

Update -- both OT and on-topic (a little) by
Sandy Foster
As some of you may have seen, I've been having serious computer
problems. I've recently traced it to a conflict between my all-in-one
printer/fax/copier/scanner and my computer. After hours/days on the
phone with an Apple techie and reinstalling my OS several times, that's
the only thing that...
