Cats in the Minkee! and what do I sew this with? by
FurrsomeThreesome
So as I posted a couple days ago about sneezing Minkee fluff, you may
have gathered I've started my next project, a VERY simple blankee made
of Minkee. It's basically 7x9 array of squares of Minkee, which will
be one side of a blanket for my upcoming Neicphew (that is, neice or
nephew, we won't...

update - long 2nd month of 2006 and still no quilting by
marigold
I want to thank all of you for sharing your lives and your quilting
stories. I don't post often but I do read several times most days.
Sometimes I think the RCTQ community is what keeps me in touch with the
world. (along with DH reading the news to me over morning coffee :) ).
I would really like...

Cheater? by
KI Graham
Join the happy dance! It might be a "cheater" panel, but it still took days
to finish my latest project....what fun! Trapunto, stippling, and
McTavishing: it's a great way to practice machine quilting, plus I think
it's splendiferous . I'm hoping my
daughter-in-law agrees. Because of the trapunto...

OT employment prayer follow up by
Tricia
Thank you all for the employment prayers back in Dec (just before G'pa
in hospital). I didn't hear anything from them BUT....
Earlier this week DH forwarded me a message from one of his colleagues.
She was agreeing to her daughter's request to be homeschooled for the
rest of the school year and...

Hancock's Monthly Block Party by
clutz
I received a package from my Mom and she had included 8 packets of
Hancock's Monthly Block Party from Quilter's Sampler Club that had been
given to her. She is not a quilter, so I got a great gift and surprise in
the mail! Now, I would like to make this one of my PIGS, but don't
think I have all...

Inner-German squishie by
Heidi from Germany
Just wanted to brag a bit too :-)
Yesterday arrived a wonderful yellow squishie ( already thanked
privately ) and I was totally confused because there were German
stamps on the envelope and the sender was 'RCTQ'. Yes I know there are
other Germans here too, but for the first moments I was confused....

I got a squishie!!! by
Kay Ahr
Thank you, thank you! My first ever from this group! It's from my Swap
Buddy. And there was a cute card with a wiggly worm.
I've cut it up already. Some 10½" strips will go into a Chinese Coin
Calendar Quilt that I am making through another group I belong to.
Hopefully I'll be sewing more of...

little plate for sewing machine by
Morag in Oxford
Hi,
I have a very standard Brother sewing machine. I have lost the little
plastic plate that fits over the feed teeth so that you can do squiggly
quilting and sewing rather than straight lines. What is the proper name for
this thingy so that I can do a search on the net and see if I can come...

recently sent me Birthday Squishes -- you know who you are :-). They
are truly appreciated and I am looking forward to using them in a

Another S.E.X-cusion! ;) by
Kate Dicey
It was a busy afternoon, one way and another... We trotted off down to
Canterbury and I spent a while (and some money!) in the sewing machine
and quilting shop...
Bought 2m of a nice dense black with a charcoal print of stars and moons
- just the ting to finish off a quilt I have the top almost...

Missing tools by
Marcella Peek
Not long ago I bought several seam rippers. One for next to the sewing
machine, one in my notions bag that goes to classes with me and one in
my appliqué kit. It was so nice having several and not having to hunt
for them.
Can I find a single one? I swear I was just sitting by the sewing
machine...

OT sort of: Where would you live? by
Kay Ahr
As a quilter, if you could live anywhere in the US, where would you choose?
I'm a public school teacher only about 7 years from retirement. When I grow
up or retire, or whichever comes first, I think I might like to teach sewing
and quilting.
A strange opportunity has presented itself. I know I...

More newsletter questions by
Julia in MN
Does your guild newsletter have advertising? Do you accept ads from
non-members? Do you accept ads that are not quilt-related? What are your
advertising rates? How many copies of your newsletter do you print? Is
the newsletter available to non-members?

Postcard swap??? by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
There's been a lot of discussion about fabric/quilted postcards. Is
there enough interest for a centralized swap?
