Singer Touch and Sew II by
Ron Anderson
None of the cabinet companies are making cabinets to fit the old machines
any longer. The T&S is a special long base so it will not fit in the treadle
cabinet save some handy modifications. I would say look to your local
handyman to repair your old table, modify the treadle or build you a...

Latest bridesmaid update! by
Kate Dicey
The second dress stuff went up this evening. More work on this one. I
have tried to let it out a bit, but there wasn't really much to let out
- not as much as was needed, anyway!
Look in Kate's Sewing room, in the left hand column, at the bottom: How
to rescue a bias cut disaster!

Interfacing? by
Aylwen Garden
I'm presently using vilene interfacing 1085 in Australia, but am looking for
a similar product, non-fusible that is twice the thickness. It comes on a
50m roll and when unrolled lies completely flat. Does anyone know of this
product? I buy through my dressmaking business, so any trade contacts...

Finally, I'd be glad of any pretty ideas for attaching a short veil to DD's

cover it in white satin and then...

Bias Cut Disaster aversion therapy! by

Wow Kate. I do believe you are right. They should be on the etiquette hell
site. I can't imagine how the original "seamstress" could have expected
payment for that. Even I could have done better! I look forward to seeing
the results of your expertise with these.

Roman blinds by
Lizzie
I'm going to make a roman blind for the first time. It seems simple enough
but one thing worries me. I read somewhere that if you have a wide window
it's best to make two blinds to hang side by side. The one I'm making is
84" wide. Can anyone tell me if a blind this width would work OK? I...

Sewing buddies in London by

I am returning to sewing after many years. I was looking for a class
to refresh my skills. I cannot find anything locally. I can revise my
skills using books and memory but miss the sharing of ideas that I
used to get from a class. I used to make a lot of my daughters clothes
when she was small....
