Axner by
Sue Roessel Dura
Hi Folks,
I ordered10 plate setters from Axner. Three of them broke in the first
shipment and two of the three replacement setters broke in the second.
Anyone else have this kind of trouble with them?
Best, Sue

Heat retentive plates photos by
jjrb230
Keep your food hot; with one minute preheating in a microwave oven
they stay hot for about 30 minutes, can be handled with bare hands:

what kiln to buy? by
test
I'm just starting out with making pottery and would like to get a kiln
for my home studio. I have no idea how to evaluate the various types and
brands before making a purchase. Can anyone offer guidelines or suggestions?
Thanks.

Repost F/S Wheel and Kiln by
Smercer
I have an older Shimpo RK2 wheel and a Skutt KS-818P Kiln for sale.
Turns out I waited too long to learn and my arthritis is preventing me
from working. So they must go. Both work very well.
I live near Davis,CA
Would like to get 900 for the pair but would accept less if needed.

Favorite soup bowl shapes by
DKat
I'm about to start making a bunch of soup bowls so that I have them for next
years feed the hungry event. I like my soup bowls with a coffee mug handle
and plain low cylinder shape for stability. But since these aren't for me
I'm curious what others like. Any comments?

Can anyone tell me why this is appropriate to the group. It looks like a
selling ploy Is that why the group is here? I thought it had a more
constructive purpose.

bisque cool down schedule by
[email protected]
I have been having a lot of cracking/pinging in some of my bisque
ware, and I am wondering if anyone has advice on what rate I should
ramp down. I am firing in a gas kiln, 4 burners, and it's about 8
cubic feet. I am doing cone 05 for bisque, to then fire to cone 5,
and using Laguna B-mix, no...

Do you think that extraterrestrials are also into pottery??? by
Lucas J. Riesau
Just imagine a lizardmen race somewhere out there in the Sirius
system.
Do you think these lizardmen do also craft pots???
Or furry creatures on a forest-planet. Something like Wookies or
Ewoks.
Do you think they're into pottery???

Wine coolers by
Red Deer
Hi Everyone,
I've been invited to sell my pots at a wine festival in June. I make
stoneware pots but I wanted to make some wine cooler pots for this
event and I was wondering if stoneware will work as a wine cooler.
All my glazes are cone 6. If I just bisque them, will that work? I
want to at...

Beginner's Question--Potter's Wheel by
Buck
They're all over the place, of course, and have dozens of characteristics
and quirks.
I remember two things (From how long ago I will not mention!):
1. A MASSIVE foot powered wheel that seemed to hold momentum forever. No
power required except the legs. Are these antiques, (or at the very...
