Sewing Pattern Software - Which? by
Mignon
Hello! I'm usually a lurker on this list, but I need help at this point, and
because I have learned so much by reading, I thought I'd request your
assistance.
Because of my voluptuous figure (not fat, you understand ;o), I am now
forced to give up commercial patterns and create my own.
The two...

sewing puppets! by
Matt
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if you could help me with some advice. I have no
sewing experience! I am a therapist and love doing all kinds of play
therapy with children. I would really like to get into puppet
therapy, where you work with children to create their own puppets used
in play. I...

I need some help with ideas for my sewing room, specifically, bookends. I'm
in the process of converting my basement into a sewing room. The shelves
will be going up this week and I need at least 3 sets of bookends.
Naturally I want the bookends to be sewing related. Did a "google"...

Sewing Silk by
Woolstitcher
Hi, :)
I'm a fairly decent sewer, I have sewn everything from market bags to
complicated garments, however, I have never sewn with silk. A friend gave
me a small bag of 100% silk ends and left overs. I thought I could piece
them together to make the lining of a wool scarf. (I'm thinking that...

sewing stitch by
[email protected]
Hi everyone. I am new and I have a question that I'm hoping one of you
can answer. There is a stitch my grandmother used to use that would be
on the front of pillows and it was like pinched up pleats going in
"x's" on the front. I want to know the name of the stitch so I can
research it and find...

Hi This is my first post, please let me know if this post belongs in a

to repair so my dog can play with them again. I think I can figure out
how to just go back and forth and sew the ripped areas back together
but what I am...

sewing to help others expand their business by
seamstressmct
Hi! I've been sewing and designing for years - even had a skirt make
the front cover of Threads. I love sewing and would like to offer my
skill and experience doing contract sewing for others who have the
idea but maybe not the time or sewing skills to produce the volume
they need. Thanks!

sewing without a pattern by
Meghan
I bought this nightgown that I love - but .. it was pricey - fit
almost well enough - and I'd love to be able to recreate it - without
taking it apart. It looks fairly simply - 5 panels, no "structure"
(like underwires) - but I've only ever made anything with a pattern
before.
How can I make a...

Sewing without a serger by
Brenna23
Just recently my serger broke and I haven't gotten around to fixing it
with superglue. Anyways, what are some good ways to bind the seams or
cover them so that they aren't exposed on the inside?
Also, what is couture sewing?
