Gordian knot pattern by
Bob & Kathleen
DH, DD2 and I (along with 7 month old grandson) went to a quilt show
today. DD2 saw a quilt made batiks (which she loves) that was a Gordian
knot. All the information available was the quilter made it from a
pattern in a class taught by "Gail". Called one LQS and talked to Gail
but it wasn't her....

OT Finally! Actively house shopping by
Night Mist
As most of you may grok based on my posting history, the house I live in has been going all to heckies for better than a decade.
I have finally gotten my family to agree that we must move. What is more I have convinced them at long last that it will be more economically sensible to buy.
Between...

The Waterway Quilt by
[email protected]
Hello Kay,
Yes, that is the quilt and it looks easy to make which is what I need for charity quilts. I enlarged this quilt. Since the quilt just uses squares and rectangles it was easy to enlarge. Thank you Kay for making it easier to see. Brian usually helps me, so having a backup(you)...

Trouble with the tension disks by
[email protected]
My thread gets stuck tightly between the tension disks and then breaks. It was sewing just fine off the quilting frame and I was using embroidery thread. On the frame it's all the time. Changed the needle, oiled the machine and I'm using the same thread as before. Ant answers?

Jamaican Stars Quilt by
[email protected]
This quilt is easy to make. I did not use batiks as I don't really like them but just used small colorful prints and it looks beautiful. Colors like a rainbow. This came from the Quiltmaker magazine September/October 2017. I could not find it on quiltmaker web site but did see it at:...

OT Beavers! by
Night Mist
I had been thinking that our bitty patch of inland wetland was a spring that had been allowed to bog up.
Nope.
We have a beaver family that moved in and made themselves to home.
We will be keeping an eye on this to see if we have to put in a pond leveler to keep the water from expanding too far,...

OT Finally Closing! by
Night Mist
After much fuss and bother we finally have a closing date!
We close this Friday.
I got the confirmation from the lawyer this morning. The seller's lawyer dragged their tail about getting ours the needed papers, so he had to work at top speed because our grant expires on the fourth.
This is...

OT Moving by
Night Mist
Well we got all our stuff moved, though we are far from organized yet.
We did not clean the old place as much as we would have liked because the plumbing went from bad to worse and we had to turn the water off to avoid flooding and electrocution and badness.
The horrible couch and matching chair...

OT Moving by
[email protected]
Hello Nightmist,
I usually move about every 5 years and give as much as I can away before moving. My biggest problem is cloths as I am a cloth horse with every closet stuffed. I finally made myself turn loose, if I wasn't going to wear it with a year out it went to Goodwill. This goes for...

Heat n bond question? by
[email protected]
You can buy this heat and bond at Wal-mart as I use it all the time. You apply it to the back of the fabric, then heat it with an iron, pull off paper and then applique it. Don't think it would work for turning under but works good for blanket stitch or zig zag.
