Socks and reinforcing thread by
Sue W
I recently acquired some sock yarn (thanks eBay!) which comes with a small
reel of matching thread for reinforcing the heels and toes. I can think of
two ways to incorporate it but I don't know which is best. I could knit it
in with the main yarn or darn the reverse through the purl loops...

good craft fair by
Spike Driver
We had a pork chop dinner and auction at church Saturday. We also had a
small craft fair. A dear friend sent me the pattern for the bow tie
scarf, I sold several of them at 5 dollars a piece. You can make 3 or
more a day if you stay busy. I had some baby blankets at $18.00 and did
not move, I...

LusterSheen by
Dawn Alguard
My mother sent me a link to a pattern she likes for a shawl made from
J&P Coats LusterSheen. I've never worked with this before and none of
my local chains carry it. If I understand what it is correctly, it's a
sport weight crochet thread? I don't really want to order 6 balls sight
unseen.
Any...

Poncho Pattern to try by
Warmhands
This pattern is normally used with two balls of yarn at the same time.
I am trying it with one.
I have made a mistake on the first row already as I did not knit all the way
around as I should have but rather than ripping it out I am just going to
keep going and see what happens.
Here is the...

What a nice experience to get an envelope from Florida, beeing on
vacation!! My relatives were very impressed, both about the nice

a little public announcement.... by
norma woods
Noreen, tell Don that I'm thinking of him will you? Now, four weeks, a small
price to pay, right? Just think of what it could have been. (Really, I don't
blame you at all for feeling the way you do.)

Crazy idea by
Anna MCM
I got this crazy idea...
Even being a more than occasional knitter, I managed to to make a candle =
flame shawl. It=C2=B4s not large, but I=C2=B4m sure I can use it under my=
winter coat.
Now, I would like to make another one, using the rayon thread I bought=20
in Italy.
What do you think,...

Re Susan's Stitch by
Susan Carey
I think it is really funny that I was sitting here just getting ready to
tell you how I got those edges. For any others who wonder, it is the
pattern for the domino or modular square. On the back or row 2 side,
knit to last stitch and slip as if to purl. On the first stitch on front
side knit into...

Binding Off Problem by
JoyceG in WA
Here's my problem! I have completed a shawl made from Soy Silk yarn, which is
really more like a narrow ribbon than a traditional yarn. The shawl has a very
long edge to bind off. I *thought* I had left enough yarn to bind off, but
about two-thirds of the way through, of course I realized that I...
